I have mixed feelings on this. I kind of think that AAA publishers/studio's are not truly capable of bringing IP's to life for fans on a first go around, yet alone a second. But, if I had to give an answer I would say World of Darkness. That might seem slightly outside the scope of this thread. Seeing as how it was an MMORPG that didn't get finished. But, it had great potential. CCP just couldn't meet the vision they had for it, for various reasons. And, that's why I think it still has promise for a reboot.
If an AAA Publisher/Publisher Backed Studio can't come in above a bar they initially set (or even lowered a few times). The game gets made any way, out of determination to turn some sort of profit. And, they are really not willing to look back on it some where down the line with fresh eyes and try again, most of the time. But, CCP is AA at best. Not quite as low down on the food chain as an Indie dev. But, has had one long term successful title under it's belt (EVE Online).
They know how to design for an MMORPG. They know how to get the most out of a demographic they target. And, they had already started on it. They have assets for it. They know what they want to do. They just were not able to. More precisely they were not able to finish the game they wanted to make. So, they backed off it. That says that they really care about their projects. And, because they probably still have plenty of assets and a floor plan for getting it done laying around. At some point in the future it makes revisiting it a possibility in my mind.
So, out of all the IP's I would like to see get a reboot. I have to go with world of darkness. Because, I think it deserves another chance in the future. And because I actually think seeing a reboot of the project is within the realm of possibility. And, maybe even a high likely-hood at some point.

Reboot? Ok, I guess i'll be that guy. I want EQ1. Not EQ Next, as I can't bring myself to view as part of Everquest family. That isn't to say it won't be any good, I just don't get an EQ feel from it.
Reboot EQ with modern graphics and mechanics. Keep the the same playstyle, difficulty and philosophy, but fix some of the common complaints that could be improved.
Larger world, better art design (more to the point, the avatars) I'd prefer a somewhat more sandboxy world with some caveats in order to maintain the story points. So no orcs camping hobbiton, or hobbits storming mordor.

Always wanted to see an Ultima Online Reboot. But Lord of the Rings would be one of my picks. Now a reboot of the original Star Wars Galaxies would also be awesome.
Also Anarchy Online. Either with or without Shadowlands, I'm not picky, but it would need a new engine for a real graphics and control overhaul (I want to be able to move by holding down both mouse buttons!). I miss AO's classes, setting, skill customization, world size (minus the zoning, which I assume could be gotten rid of), twinking, weapons and armor variety, apartments, fun loot drops for decorating the apartments, social clothing, kiting ability for the NT, and flying. And I miss not constantly going from quest hub to quest hub filled with needy, bossy NPCs.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
Yeah I heard about that back in the day but it looked like it would have been total garbage anyways. I'm glad it never took off originally. I think a developer could do amazing with it now though. Even a single player RPG, I'd pony up 60$ for that.

But this wasn't just a TNG thing...even the original series focused on the personalities of individual crewman...even for just an episode.

I'd buy the IP from Too Human and recreate that world as an action-based MMO.
While the gameplay there was weak, the IP itself was amazing, Norse mythology just meshed seamlessly with that cyber-ized futuristic dystopia.

Just to clarify my OP for everyone.
Im specifically asking about Existing, Cancelled, or Pre-Development MMO's that have used a specific IP and deserve a new game based on the IP.
So yes, Everquest, Lord of the Rings, Ultima, The Matrix, are all fine because they all have had a pre-existing MMO that can be rebooted.
Things like say "Golden Girls Online" wouldnt count because no ones ever made a Golden Girls MMO (although someone should immedietly).
