The more I learn about this Labor points system the less I'm inclined to touch this game.

The thing that really turns me off is that even if you choose to pay a 15 dollar sub/month you still have labor point restrictions, obviously less than if you go F2P but they're still there. If one day I choose to go on a gaming binge and I play 18 hours straight I'll surely run out of LP and will HAVE to buy a regen potion in the cash shop, on top of paying a sub. I find that unacceptable.

Otherwise the game looks great and holds much promise IMO but I'll have to wait and see how Trion tweaks this labor point business before making up my mind about playing or not.

Labor points are needed, and they won't ever be removed.

FYI: The people that say you can buy LP: sure you can buy a potion for $ which also has a 12 hour cooldown so you are capped at 2 k extra LP with premium items. People can run the math all day, every day until they go blue in the face and they won't ever come up with a objective result which denotes P2W on this alone, add in the fact you can be a freebie player for your whole time spent in the game and have patron and every premium item in the game, if you work for it, by trading for gold sinks every last possible argument.

Oh and OP: In facebook you pay to skip the timer,in AA you can pay with time in a alternate fashion than a facebook game to skip it ( earn gold -> cash shop currency -> LP pots or gold -> lp pots via the auction house).

To anyone that says "But that ain't F2P then because someone still pays!" : so? Did I pay ? no? do I get full access to the game? yes? F2P, if people want to spend more money on the game than the patron and their own pots and cosmetic items it is their choice and if anyone says otherwise: Porsche, diamond encrusted dresses, the Nvidia Titan series and the X2 series from Radeon, all luxuries, all wastes of money, want to go tell those companies to stop doing it?

I tried to put down a scarecrow last night to grow some crops without them being stolen.  Game told me only patrons can do that.  I later learned that only patrons get to own a house.

So...as a F2P player do I get full access to the game?

You explained how this game is blatantly P2W, and double dipping on it's subscribers who pay monthly to support it,  multiple times in your post and then said "this game is not P2W".

Also, and correct me if I am wrong, but labor points can ONLY be gotten by waiting unless you pay for it with real world money.  That is a timer.  It's literally 5 LP for 5 minutes.  You want 50 LP, you have to wait 50 minutes.

However, you can purchase 2k LP with a 12 hour cooldown.  That's, effectively, 4k LP every 24 hours.  A patron (subscriber) makes x amount of LP per day.  A patron who pays real world money makes x+4K per day.  The patron who pays real world money (subscription + cash shop = double dipping) will ALWAYS be able to do 4k more worth of whatever in a single day than someone who is just a filthy pathetic unsupportive worthless degenerate subscriber...who pays monthly to support the game.

That, by definition, is P2W since, effectively, LP is a finite resource NECESSARY to maximize efficiency and those with more will always be more efficient (i.e. get more done faster) than those without it.

My face met my palm...they fell in love, fell out of love, got back together, separated, re-kindled their romance...

    In order:

Work for your patron status (earn gold) and you know... socialize, you can do allot more in the end if you actually make friends with those characters on the screen that aren't NPCs.

So? You can wait, grind gold and buy em off AH or trade for premium cash and get em that way and you can also buy patron this way as well.

No, you can buy and then consume 1 pot per 12 hours which gives back 1k LP, that's 2k extra LP per day, you can do this by either putting in cash or working for it and trading with other players. Shocking I know to be made to work for something... not like WoW hasn't been making people grind and then rendering that work useless the next gear tier... oh wait it has for the last decade.

You should learn the definition of P2W which in its basic, objective, form is: Paying $ to obtain power which cannot be obtained any other way. Is LP that? No, you said it yourself it regenerates.

Now if you wish to continue discourse I strongly urge you to look up what a Skinner Box is first and then study all the P2P MMOs of the past decade and tell me how many aren't that. At least AA does not make you work for things, as a F2P player, which become obsolete in the next major expansion.

Ok, I'm new to the game - about 10 or so hours played - so if the answer to this is obvious, I apologize.  So far the only way I get gold is from farmer's purses which cost LP to open. Are there other ways to get currency? Does the money from selling items (which cost LP to identify) and opening purses eventually reverse so that it becomes a profitable way to gain LP?

It's a great game and I'll be playing as a Patron without a doubt, so I have no worries about the LP situation. I'm quite patient as well, so I'm happy to wait for certain things and to prioritise my goals.

You are focusing on loot a bit too much to earn money... you can also do that by supplying ores, lumber or other raw materials for crafters specialized more heavily in advanced crafts whom usually buy off the AH to save LP for crafting. That's one way, there's also trading past a certain point ( I don't know which in the western version, only dabbled in the RU version for a couple of weeks before my ping went to hell) and in general look and try to find something you can do which would earn you better returns for LP and/or time expended (here you need to research a bit and keep your eyes open, you never know what may pop up).

    Mint. Thanks, Dihoru.
