So my thoughts on the subject are that ESO needs to be fixed and refined to entice me back, whilst Wildstar would probably require a complete FFARR-style rebuild.

It was and still undergoing transition.

Might not be your cup of tea, but many of us enjoyed the change.

Also some of us actually wanted to buy WS down the road and try it when we need a break from ESO. I do hope WS wont become F2P. It would kill the game.

Ahahaha, haha.  Thanks for the laugh.

and if population decreases, we all now what happends next..F2P, so, yeah...F2P its not the devil, it kept alive and gave more content to games i enjoy like Rift and swtor...so...why delay the f2p?...swtor is making shit tons of money, rift too

    I dont' even play wildstar.

But if wildstar is like the other generic mmorpg, I'm not sure why it matters that the population is low.  Isn't most of the zones single players anyway?

One major flaw of Wildstar and one of the (many) reasons people are leaving is that the end-game (in this case, the things people need to do to further progress their gear/character) consists ONLY of 20 and later 40 man raids.  Therefore population matters. You can't do a 40 man raid without 40 people.

It's EXTREMELY easy to get what's basically the "best" non-raid looted/crafted equipment in the game. After that, the only way to progress further is raids (and maybe daily quests that you can only do once a week).  One common complaint I see about Wildstar is that people simply have nothing to DO at this point, literally, because gathering up 40 attuned people for a raid is nearly impossible even before you take into account the difficulty of the raid itself.

For this type of MMO I think megaseervers are definitely the way to go.

Welcome back to ESO, I never left myself, still having a blast with the game.   Nothing on radar except CU out there that interests me, ill be here a while.

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

The moment you begin discussing "server mergers" and "mega servers" in a game that's not over 5 years old, it's already over. The fact these "Megaservers" are even needed after a pathetic 3-4 months is indicative of a larger issue with the game itself.

Wildstar was a product of Vanilla WoW developers who spent too long under Metzen and forgot how to think for themselves... and as a result, this early after release, we're talking about server mergers being the answer.

Don't even worry about server mergers - the game is doomed whether they happen or not.
