For those of you complaining about this piece i suspect if it was about a game you liked your tone would change instantly.
No it would not. If someone doesn't like a game I play, I have no problems with that. I'm smart enough to realize not even games I love are perfect and people prefer different game styles and like to get different things out of games.
I'm never going to tell them that the game is fantastic and that the problem is with them.
It's one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard, and certainly not something that should be the basis of an article here.
The writer should be embarrassed and so should the editing staff which allowed this to go up on the site.
There are so many articles that the author just comes out and says they are a fan of GW2 and praises everything with no objectivity and yet the masses drink the cool aid willingly.
Er.. I don't think it has anything to do with being a GW2 fan, Soandso, the problem was that the poster seemed to be negatively forcing their opinion plus they were wrong about who did what first. "So you like TSW? I don't care, I thought it was boring, the combat was crap and it looked like everyone was made of plastic." Can I write that article? I doubt it. Just because someone's giving props to a game doesn't mean the article is "polite" in any way.
Originally posted by Dealdrick If the combat system wasn't so dreadfully boring I would prolly still be playing TSW, but 1111123 over and over is so dull.....
Exactly. Left for sole reason of that silly 1 toolbar limit and 500 spells from which maybe only 3-4 are really usefull. Worst decision ever. Same reason I have stopped to play WS.
Also I didn't mind the article because it gets out what some people need to hear. I love TSW, I really do. I don't know why everyone has to be an elitist. One small portion that isn't up to snuff doesn't mean you should stop playing?! Look at the story, the world, the ambience of that world! It's so very worth it.

I, personally, don't want to have to rely on some kid to be able to pick from the 400 buttons. If I'm going to group with you I want NO "lasting connections." Sure, we can group again for another instance but I don't want any of "you" remembered.
So the fact we are limited to one action bar limits the "dependability" I have on the college-aged kid (or whatever) to do his job/function.
I hope that you get retributed one way or another by Funcom for posting such an "article" to promote TSW.
It sounds like something posted by a fanboy to convince people that didn't played the game not to listen to all comments that describe it as a bad/average one... pathetic.
It must be hard to live with the fact that you re surrounded by people that can't see the "true" as you, TSW fanboys, do.
The biggest problem with TSW is that it just has a horrible starting experience that almost had me quit the game, but by the time you get to the endgame (and even progressing through the game), many skills previously thought useless reveal their essentialness and then it will all really click. Dodgy animations included
TSW also has some real progression to its combat, meaning that you will be swapping weapon setups and builds constantly as the game progresses and learning new ways to play vs other games where you'll be playing the same way but the progression is only in getting bigger numbers and gear.
Replaying content but with different weapon/build setups is like playing a whole new class or different character compared to other games, this they did extremely well with the skill system

Many hurt feelings here.

Typical for this site really.
Great article.

ok we get it, you like the game regardless of how bad it is
I am quite sure that no one cares if you care about the + or - of the game though

Thus making your words pathetic.
