Q. What is the level cap and will it ever be raised?
A. Currently the level cap is set to a maximum of 20. Once you reach Level 20, you will continue to acquire skill points and refund points, but your health and mana points will be capped. At this time, there are no plans to raise the level cap. If we do make a change, or if we have a higher level cap in future chapters of Guild Wars, we will be sure to share the news in an interview, on our various fansite forums, or we will make a post about it on our official site, www.guildwars.com. Please keep an eye on the site for future updates.
The lvl of the character isn't important. the main point of this game is relieving the pressure on lvling. the game is basically about the skills it have. 500 skils or more to look for. Different ppl uses different skills and it is your experinece, no the character's experience, on how to use the skills properly. in arena, i can see lvl 15 kill a lvl 20 solo. (The other players was at each others necks so they didnt have much support. lmao)
I would like to see the level cap raised to at least 50, so we'd have more of a challenge, but otherwise, 20 is fine with me, I just got level 16 and it's 11k experience to level 17, so level 49 to 50 must be like 500k experience or something, so that would be quite challenging.
actually I wouldn't like seeing the lvl cap be raised to 50, since that would ruin the whole concept about no-lvl grinding a bit. I would though like it to be raised with 10 levels to add som variety.
I agree with the devs. Leveling is not what this game is about. If you want a challenge go PvP and work your guild up the ladder. I think the PvE in this game is great but I have always hated the leveling grind.
they are going to have to raise it sooner rather than later. i mean, its not a subscription game so they got the money they are going to get, until an expansion comes..but alot of people are going to lose interest. you can only run so many pvp battles(most people) before it gets real old.

levelling /= interest, at least for me. New monsters, weapons, skills, environments, tactics, challenges = interest. All the level decides is the amount of HP, attribute points and energy you have, I don't see any reason to change that. They could always add more attribute point quests but IMO its doubtful.
In summary: more skills yes, more levels no.

PvE in general is pretty lame, if you think long and hard about it. You are spending your time beating a severely gimped AI that would lose to a well trained monkey. Best not to think too long and hard why you are wasting time playing games in general actually...

I think the level cap is just fine and no need to raise it.
