Looking to build a world

Mills007Mills007 Member UncommonPosts: 55
I am looking for a PC game --- MMO, single-player RPG, ARPG, whatever --- that will allow me to adventure and for those adventures to influence/shape/build the world I'm playing in. I'm thinking something like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (for the world-building) meets the Diablo series (as far as the adventuring and exploring goes). Anyone know if such a game exists?

Maybe I should clarify with some examples...

I want something that looks nice... not antiquated graphics or 8-bit style. ARP or 3rd person look. Something where I start out as a nobody. Go into town, grab a quest or two, follow the clues into a dungeon. Let's say there are bandits camping out i that dungeon. Maybe I kill them and my standing in the town goes up. Maybe I kill the bandit leader and decide to lead the survivors myself, creating a different set of circumstances when I get back to town.

Maybe all this happens solo. Maybe I can connect with a friend and enter his world, where his deeds have gotten him elected mayor and a small fortress built in his version of the world, and I help him kill an undead king that has been terrorizing his citizens.

Again, anything out there similar to this that you guys can recommend?

I don't know anything that in-depth, but you could try Planet Explorers...ALOT of freedom, quests, building/crafting and very unique game world.  MMORPG has yet to post this game in their games list although I did ask....lol

The Fable games may appeal to you.

Or Suikoden if you don't mind a Playstation 1 game.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
