Been dying to have a mmorpg come out that is fun.  I tried out ESO and Wildstar recently and both were just more of the same thing :(    Is there anything coming out relatively soon that is worth looking into?

There's a lot of games out, but unfortunately two things:

    1) What have you played? and What are you looking for?

    2) There is a very real possibility that you may just need to take a break from MMOs.

If you just want something fun to play, and aren't looking for some miracle game that has everything, you have numerous options. However, if you are looking for THE game to beat all games, just take a step back. Try other genres, and gain some perspective. There's a surprising amount of MMOs that are fairly fun out currently. They just don't appease the content grinders, who try and rush through everything so that they complain about having nothing.

Archeage and WoD are the two games up next in the queue for release... both likely before the end of the year.   Today?  No.  Tomorrow?  No.  In a week?  No.  In a month?  No.  In several months?  Yes.

Firefall is the most recent game that launched, but besides that...ArcheAge, WoW expansion. Maybe TheRepopulation.

I've tried pretty much all of the AAA titles that have been released.  I don'r rush to end game, infact there have been very few MMORPGS where I have made it to end game.  I think Rift was the last one I actually made it to end game.

I don't think I need a break from MMOs, I haven't really invested much more than 50 hours in a single MMO for years.

Basically I'm looking for something that's not the standard WoW-style quest hub grinder.

All MMO's are going to require that "grind" many like to call it. WHat are you seeking as your mainstay? Because it's all going to involve some kind of "grind" to get there?

People really need to start being more specific, because wildstar/WOW and ESO/TOR/TSW offer two very different focuses when it comes to the "grind" and the point of it.

Why not play something like Planetside 2? Play EVE? IF you don't want questing, but they still require the same type of time investment before you get to the "good stuff"...

Maybe you want an action game?

I'm waiting on Albion Online. It looks very promising. :)

I dont enjoy quest grinding, the perfect example of a grind I enjoy was Shadowbane.  Get a group together and head out to a camp of mobs and start killing, while keeping an eye out for pvpers/gankers.

And I'm looking for an mmorpg to play, and asking if there is anything else out there that is different than the standard quest grinding games.  I understand there are different genres and different games to be played, I'm looking for an mmorpg.
