Rebel or Empire?

TechpriestTechpriest Member Posts: 104

Updater says I am 41 minutes away from playing.  I was wondering how the sides are balanced?  Do most people play on one side or is it an even mix?  Is there the same number of missions, equipment, etc for both or is content slanted in any direction?  I am sure the company says their equal but what is it really?

If I choose Empire how bad does not being human hurt you?  I am a human in real life, I want something different in the game.

Thanks!

I would stay nuetral til you have some experience under your belt and a regular group of people you hang with in the game. You don't have to pick a faction ever, and you can take one anytime you want. You can also resign from one and join another any time you want. Get to know them both first and the repercussions of having a faction, then decide.

Who dominates (Rebel or Imperials) varies a lot from server to server. However, it may even be most interesting to start an Imperial on a Rebel dominated server or vice versa. Target rich environment I say :-)

    have fun

LOL this one sounds like me.  Something different on a half dozen servers, tho Noobia steals almost all my time now.  I love her best.

Stay Neutral untill you get some expeirnence. Then decide what best for you.

I origanally was Rebel, but switched over to Imperial for a couple reasons. My main reason was that I was always getting ganked by stormies when I would tef at thier random shakedowns while I was Rebel. My other deciding factor was that of all the other players that I came into contact with, my fellow Rebels were the worst. Most of them were unbeleivably rude, whereas most of the Imperials I crossed paths with all seemed much nicer. So I switched to Imp and never regretted it.

I would hold off on making your faction decision so soon. Neither side has a big advantage by design, but depending on your server, due to percentages of server population being unevenly distributed between the factions, you might find one side to be whomping the other side like they stole something.

I'd say let your in-game experiences shape the choices your character will make. Why decide now? I always join a sever, and let that stuff play out naturally. Obviously, those who make an attempt at helping and befriending me, will make me want to be around them at least a while.

How would it happen in real life, if you were undecided? You'd just go about your business until you were given a reason to choose either way. I'd say do the same here, that way, you'll make sure you end up on the right side.

Not so much for political viewpoint's sake, but for gameplay style's sake.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

I chose Imperial originally because I liked ST armor better than Rebel armor. Now with JTL I like the Imp ships better than the rebels.

I am actually the other way around, I like the rebel ships better. But I am Imperial, and yes, the rebel armor is really really bad. I don't see any influences from the movies in it.

But then again, I also like frogluks :P

Go imperial. Nothing like having your own chicken walker and the ensuing hate tells from rebels that you somehow cheated.
