First of all, Hello to all members of the MMORPG.com forums.

I am new on this forum and decided to come looking for a new MMORPG here, next week my new laptop's coming so I want to make a fresh start with my games.

Currently I'm only able to play those low-end, mostly anime style, P2W, F2P mmorpg's. I got used to it but it still isn't really what i'm looking for.

Right  now, I am looking for a game that includes these features (or at least some of them):

1. Non targeted combat system (so more like the aMMORPG style of combat, see Black Desert as reference)

2. Mostly solo play (I don't like parties very much but I don't mind for huge raids or GVG etc...)

3. Mostly PvE but a little *optional* PvP is also nice every once in a while.

4. Housing system would be nice!

5. Guilds have to be important and actually have an impact on the game ( or gameplay )

6. Graphics don't need to be realistic but no more of those cheap anime styles please!

BTW, I really enjoy those games where you have to fight hordes of mobs at the same time ;)

yeah, i looked through a lot of games these past few days but wasn't able to find anything that really piqued my interest.

I hope you have some suggestions for me :)

Regards,

SWTOR has all those things except the non-target thing (if I'm understanding you correctly at least you want a game without tab targetting, right?).

ESO has them all as well except for the housing. Same deal with TERA and GW2 unless they snuck in a housing update when I wasn't looking.

Wildstar sounds like it has everything you want too, but it seems highly focused on endgame group content.

I'm not sure if there is one that meets all those criteria perfectly. Maybe ArcheAge? But it isn't out yet (though I suspect it will be soon since they've been having betas every weekend now).

Some action combat games I've enjoyed are Neverwinter, TERA, DC Universe Online, and The Elder Scrolls Online. The first three are F2P with sub options (all with fairly decent F2P models), and ESO is subscription only.

I've also been poking into Dragons Prophet lately, but haven't played long enough to make any sort of judgement on it yet. It's combat is actiony as well.

Guild Wars 2 has action combat as well, just without the reticle (attacks hit multiple enemies in your path, you have to aim attacks, etc.).

These games don't have housing, except for DCUO, which has player bases/lairs for your heroes. I think TERA is getting some sort of guild housing eventually, not sure though.

EDIT: I'll second the recommendation for SWTOR. It's has everything you're looking for, aside from the action combat. Also, if you like being James Bond, but maybe even a bit more evil, play the Agent story. It's amazing. XD

    Thanks for your replies,

Indeed, my must-have criteria is the action combat... I've been playing "click and wait" combat for about 3 years now, and I've had enough...

At this moment the game I'm most interested in is TERA, however my low-spec laptop can't run it yet, so I'm going to wait until next week to it out!

Also for the F2P with subscription model, I might look into that once I've gotten some more time to spend on games ( currently I can only play about 3 hours a day ) so I think it would be kind of a waste to pay unless I can fully enjoy it :)

I'll look forward for other recommendations as well!

    regards,

I believe Zenimax said they want to do housing too eventually. So it couldn't hurt to start playing and build up a nice fund before they add it.

Every game these days is pretty much adding it at some point now, since all the big titles have it (Well, WoW is getting it soon, but everyone knows they are adding it).

If you're looking for an action-y MMO without a subscribtion, Guild Wars 2 is your best bet. TERA is ok, but its leveling is dreadfully boring.

In GW2 you also won't feel like you're slaying mobs that took a wrong turn at Mario Street and Sonic Avenue. =P
