Our team has been paying attention to the feedback you’re sharing about the werewolf skill line, and we’re ready to tell you about some of the changes we’re considering to improve the gameplay experience for all you followers of Hircine out there. We’re interested in seeing what you think!
First off, we’re planning to reduce the cost of transforming into a werewolf. The current costs feel too high, and we want you to be able to transform more frequently. We’ve also fixed a bug that prevented you from using the CC Break ability in werewolf form.
We want to make a few changes to damage scaling and the Savage Strength passive that will give you a little more burst potential and allow your gear upgrades to affect damage output in a more meaningful way. Savage Strength will offer a flat increase to power instead of stacking multiple times. The bonus is a bit lower to balance the change out, but overall you’ll have more ability to deal burst damage. We want light and heavy attacks to additionally scale off of weapon power (instead of just maximum stamina), and for Pounce and its morphs to scale off of weapon power instead of spell power.
Finally, we’ll be adding some all-new werewolf abilities to give you more combat options. Here’s what we’ve come up with (we’ll have more about the morphs in the future and would love to know what you’d like to see):
- Hircine’s Bounty: This is a self-heal ability that gives you more survivability.
- Piercing Howl: An ability that damages and knocks an enemy down.
- Infectious Claws: A swipe attack that deals disease damage to multiple foes.
There you have it! Tell us what you think about the changes, which will be coming online in a future game update. Happy hunting!

Here's a video I made a couple months ago of some WW Cyrodiil game play.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
1. Well one of the changes is reducing the ultimate cost. That being said over the past couple months I developed a build for the sole purpose of building ult for WW transform. It's a Cyrodiil build that allowed me to transform ever 7-10 minutes. Now with the reduced cost changes coming there are chances of some real significant uptime.
2. Yeah they fixed that awhile back, there are still some transformation animation/activation issues when transforming in a crowd. Just two weeks ago I was raging on the forums about them since then I've only had the issue once or twice. Stealth fix maybe or I could just be doing something different, idk.
3. I don't recall any WW nerfs. I do know that I can smack dudes for 1500 at times on 2.5-3k health pools and when I fear in a crowd people just die due to the chain reaction effect of ferocious that causes targets who die while feared to fear and set 3 more targets off-balance.
Like any change this will need to be played to see what it does. Although you don't get your WW powers unless in WW form you also only get the extra poison damage in that form. The extra flame damage taken by Vampires, well flame is far more common and is associated with some of the best ways of attacking in the game.
But on a wider issue, expecting parity is the wrong approach. If these were classes you would expect overall parity, maybe one class is better in groups, another in PvP and so on. But you are picking guilds, so don't expect parity. Have you noticed, hardly anyone expects the mages and fighters guild lines to have parity, but so many expect WW and Vamps to. Rather odd that.
Well, in an ideal world we would want to have as many viable skill lines as possible. I am really said that they didn't just make all 12 class skill lines available to everyone and not have the classes altogether. Maybe put some restrictions. IT would've been an amazing class system imo.

More likely than not it was a balancing act in order to prevent people from making a super powerful character.

In that case they should have let people "respec" their class for say 10k gold so that you don't ever have to make an alt. My reluctance to make an alt stems from the fact that the game makes you go through all 3 factions on one character. Redoing that all over again will be extremely tedious and not worth it.
