Before it was turned into a mess I always thought it was different in the MMO landscape.(pre 12/7/07)

Good PVP system 

Player Driven Economy

can be enjoyed fully with little to no combat via skills

It was Themeparkish but with all the quests, pvp, economy, monsters, I always felt it has a different thing going fo rit. 

 

NOTE: I am a bit bias, this was my go to MMO for a long time and have many good memories of it
