Well the end of summer is here. For most of us that means back to school in some form or work in another. This year at PAX Prime we saw a host of AAA titles and Indie Games that will shape the landscape entering into the final half of the year and the first few months of 2015. While there is always a major presence by top publishers we are still in awe of the powerful independent game movement that is sweeping the industry. Read on for our top picks from this year's PAX Prime.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

All these "Shadowrun" MMO's are turning out like giant turds... and its really bumming me out.
The dumbing down of in-depth mechanics that ARE NOT good when they aren't complicated is ruining the potential for 90% of MMO's.
It's like every developer thinks that "Chess" is too much for the average person and wont sell, so their solution is NOT to make chess more appealing in any way, shape, or form... but to only make "Checkers" and "Connect Four" now.
>:(
Disappointed and kinda blown away Archeage wasn't listed at all? How these turds got mentioned over AA boggles my mind.
I must be missing something........
Darkest dungeon really did look like a great rpg. Something really quite new to me at least.
And pillars of eternity gave me a strong baulders gate feel so...you can't go wrong with that in an RPG.
As far as mmos go at pax this year... what a weak showing. you could really just pick one of the few at random and say you win!
so if i make a game and call it an mmorpg but its single player rpg ,that makes it an mmorpg?
Did they show anything new? Did they show anything? I don't honestly know I am just asking. But usually these categories have to do with something that made the staff excited. Not just liking the game itself.
man i am sticking to wizard 101
These are not just the MMO awards, these are the MMORPG awards.
Of the seven awards only three are MMO's.
But don't worry, the MMO genre is doing fine, could not be better. Take your tablet and stick your head in the sand...everything is alright.
거북이는 목을 내밀 때 안 움직입니다
Kind of a weak showing over all IMO... But that's very much true of this genre in general. The only game I am happy to see there is PoE, and even that harkens back to a passed golden age.
If it wasn't for AA this would be pretty much yet another MMORPG free year forme personally.
no idiot, its single/mmo for a reason, and the crew is race and explore so kinda hybrid, u dont join a map to race like other racing game, it just pure open world
It's a big open map that you drive around to find instanced events (races, time trials and such) or queue for PvP which is also instanced. The rest of the game is an interactive waiting room, which is where the MMO comes in. But most of the time in game is either single player or limited to 8 people. Very little sets this game apart from Test Drive Unlimited on the 360 aside from the MMO interactive waiting room aspect. That was just a driving game. The Crew is just a driving game. There's no hybrid to it.
its easy
the criteria is the same as the rest of the video game industry. basically whoever gives the biggest back room bribe wins.
