Opinions "aren't allowed"? Eh? You're entitled to yours, ofc, but don't play that kind of victim card.

You don't like it, others do... It doesn't suit your tastes, it suits others... No biggie, and no need to get over dramatic.

Personally, having played for a few months, I am loving the game. Each to his own though.

I got over dramatic, lol ok.I simply stated I don t like the game, no drama included. No need to get touchy.

You put a strong opinion out there and it got responded to on the same level. Nothing "touchy" about it.

I am starting to see a pattern in how you discuss things.

So it s ok to say you love it, but I can t "STRONGLY"say I hated it? Really, grow up, stop being so overdramatic.

Highly unlikely - as most game devs have worked for 3 or more game studios and lots of them remain friends.

Game devs are a tight knit community no matter what companies they work for - and they don't bash others games.

As I'm sure Soki must be the person's real name and easily identified by that tight knit community.  Please.

Edit: further, not only are you making a great generalization I actually know a person or two in the gaming industry.  And yes, they do bash other games.  Maybe not in PR statements, but there is a lot more behind the scenes.

ok friend, have it your way. Like I say, I see how you discuss things and so I humbly withdraw from the exchange. Have fun. Inevitable last word is yours.

    What an absurd blanket generalization.

There have been PLENTY of instances where game developers have directly bashed another developer, the most recent that I can think of being when Chris Haga, Jay Wilson and Jill Harrington trashed David Brevik on Facebook.

I believe Wilson's exact words were: "Fuck that loser". Ah yes, indeed they were:

    http://i.imgur.com/r5o5I.png

Three staff members from the most prolific gaming studio in the industry, that had zero concern for the way they were conducting themselves and only showed a hint of remorse for their actions after a massive outcry from customers and fans publicly calling them out for being obscenely unprofessional.

Tight knit community? The gaming industry is one of the most cutthroat and ruthless of any on the planet. This scenario has happened many times in gaming history, why you seem to think otherwise is beyond me. You're fooling yourself.

Agreed.  I've called him out a few times for the bullshit statements he makes.   I don't mind one voicing one's opinion, but if you are going to imply it to be fact then you are nothing more than a troll.

I love Archeage (played russian version) before putting down the 150 for the founder pack.  Yes game is not for everyone but if you like to micromanage and are a crafter its heaven as I said at least for me yes very grindy when it comes to crafting awesome houses and mounts or vehicles but thats what I like best IT TAKES TIME.

I am so over the "instant ADD generation" reason why mmos have swayed so much in that direction ...questing here is not great but thats not the point you can do what you want and how you want follow quests or dont't but  you can craft, farm build be a pirate...etc etc

Heck I even go deep sea diving for treasure and pearls etc for weeks and made a good amount of money doing that so much to do but some are so put off by tthinking its all about quest and race to max lvl in ArcheAge IT IS NOT about that.

Yeah, it's like that.Make an account on http://www.archeagegame.com/en/Download and install Glyph, then install archeage from the launcherhttps://glyph.trionworlds.com/account/profile/manage-game!input.action?dd=1Install the game through the launcher and update it, congrats, you are ready to play.
great... Another "...new lightweight digital hub for PC games and their digital goods." Is this the future? Will every studio try to get multiple programs for simply just wanting ti play a game?

I guess I'll pass. Not excited enough to jump through their hoops.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

I dont care about beta, i just want the release.

I actually do, because in some games it can be a saving of at least $75.    Yes that is $60 basic box and the smaller month by advance they charge $15.  But if can go over $100 depending on game and package chosen.

I this game is from $50-$150.  So I guess yes, I care about beta.

If last open beta sucks, then release will suck even more due to the massive amount of people starting at the same time.

I dont care about THIS beta because i allready test it in other region and in a CB here and allready know i want to play.

And in case of AA, the cost dont apply, anyone can try for free, now or on release.

Wasnt speak about betas in general, ofc i want betas befor spend any money in any game, but about AA enouph of testing for me, wanna start playing "for real".

If you played WoW vanilla on a pvp server and enjoyed the world pvp this is quite simply the best mmo  in ten years . Actually because of its complexity I would say it exceeds WoW Vanilla in that many pve respects as well .

Not sure what the Archeage equivalent of Tarren Mill vs Southshore will be but I look forward to finding out .

Oh come on I bet you havn't stopped using ebay because they were attacked earlier this year . Some people make the most pathetic comments .

I bet if it happens with a company like ebay you just ignore it but when its a game developer you get into a strop and do the adult equivalent of throwing your toys out of the pram .

If you don't want to play the game just be honest and say so rather than coming up with silly comments like that . It just makes you look spoilt and childish .

I couldn't find any peace in beta and the Gods decided to disconnect me as well, good luck to everyone who decides to play, I think it can be an enjoyable experience, but at this time I'm going to have to pass.

Even though I'm not a fan of open PVP I'm giving the OB a go because I like crafting and open world sandboxes. However, so far all I've done is follow arrows to tedious quests in the so-called themepark fashion. Thing is, can I experience the more interesting aspects of this game in a 4 day beta as a non-founder?

I think you can gain a basic familiarity with the game, get off the beaten path to explore, join a guild and do a trade run ( or just assist on one) to see the game.  I took a trip to my guild's island retreat, was a pack mule on a trade run, watched a naval battle.....good fun.  Make sure you visit Mirage Island to see all the cool goodies you can obtain.   If you just follow the quest lines and do quests, I can see it being very tedious.  After my first beta, I decided to pick up Founder since having my own house, plot of land is very important to me.  Make sure you visit the various housing areas to see where you would like to live!

How well you know me... <rolls eyes>

I actually made an account with Trion. When I could not find a "download game" link, my eyebrows raised. ArcheAge has a few features I would like to "see" what they are like and how they work together. However, I am not intrigued enough (knowing there is PvP) to make any kind of concerted effort to find out.

I already have Steam and Origins cluttering up my HDD, Origins JUST for Kingdom of Amular. So EA has Origins and Trion now has Glyph. There are many, many more publishers that I can see jumping on this bandwagon. Having to load Steam THEN the game I want play is bullshit.

I am a simple man. Give me a goddamn game disc and let me play. Autorun is a nice feature. All this other crap is for the birds.

PS: I have had and deleted a couple of accounts from eBay. Very rarely do I use that site. Same with PayPal. If PayPal is the ONLY way I can pay, I forgo the purchase.

Dumping $150 on a game is insane.  I play games for fun, sounds like you do it for an occupation.  I never had to dump that kind of money in UO for a house let alone the castle I had.  Seems all these developers are into soaking the player base these days instead of actually making games that are fun.

Have fun in AA, but the way they monetized this game I think the smart thing is to stay far away from it.

Its popular on this site because there are allot of people who hype every new game creating post after post on how its going to trump every other game just to turn around and trash it when they take the rose coloured glasses off and realize the game only existed in their head.

The game is a pvp/guild/crafting based game. Not the type for solo players or pvp haters. At lvl 30+, 90% of the zones are open pvp. Enemy AND friendly faction can PK you any time and as much as they want once you leave the towns.

Also, you can do plenty in 4 days. I got to lvl 30 in the 1st CBT. Joined a guild and we helped each other and ended up with 3 clippers(ships) and went pirating(Open pvp out on the sea). Stealing trade packs. By the 3rd CBT our guild had a galleon and 4 clippers and a bunch of 50s.

The whole queue thing will stop after the first day usually. Also, that is the first time the glyph thing had problems connecting that i've saw. Archeage doesn't have any gamebreaking or "big" bugs as far as I know. I've played in EVERY CBT. 1st CBT was really only one with big bugs in it.

Definately worth a try. Look into the class system. It's pretty nice. Combat isn't "slow-paced". Not as quick as action games. But it's a pretty good pace.

If you want help in open beta, try out pvp/pirating, help with gear/crafting, use farms/etc. Make a toon on the  shaira server?(Think that's how it's spelled). On the human/elf side and ask in chat to join a guild called "IRONFIST". If they ask, tell them "Velle" told you. Active voicechat. And all the help you could want.

If you follow the quest line do you get introduced to crafting and having your own farm and even owning a house? I'm only level 8 as yet.

Downloading the client now. 577mb of 8.58gb, heh.

Figure I'll try a Nuia Archer mixed with some heals. See how that rolls.
