Looking for any sandbox MMORPG

ManasongManasong Member Posts: 208

After getting my pve fix with FFXIV (sad that it did not last long) I'm itching for a sandbox mmorpg, minecraft just doesn't cut it anymore. I have been researching and saw many new games, unfortunately they aren't really popular and many are in development.

I'm just really itching to play The Repopulation, it looks so far one of the most well developed (I will wait a little more before backing Star Citizen :P I wanna wait for it to show some more interesting progress). While I wait I occasionally pop in SGWEmu.

So I'm looking for one to invest some money since I was going to invest in Archeage but this new patch made me do a 180 turn. Any ideas? I wanna invest into one that is a lot more closer to be finished.

albion claims to be a sandbox mmorpg  but will see when its released if it is indeed a true sandbox. I dont know any other sandbox that is close to being released other than the ones that have been mentioned. I assume you have seen wurm and all the others from your research. There is still one out there that hardly any one knows about yet but like you said still in development. Ill leave the link any ways. Check out features.

What depth of sandboxiness are you looking for? Something nearly like Minecraft, where you just collect resources and build and build and build? You might enjoy Rust, if so.

Or if you want something thats so sandboxy its not even a game anymore, more of a coding toolkit, Second Life.
