Level cap 50? peaple arldy reaching it?

DzoneDzone Member UncommonPosts: 371

I just watched a few streams of AA online and apparently during the 4 day open beta some gamers were already level 50. That doesn't sound good to me at all. Didn't everyone start open beta with a fresh new character?

I only have like around 4 hours a day to play this and beginning to think I wont beable to compete in PVP if the progression is that fast in this game.

I thought this was gona be a long lasting game with long term goals to achieve but I may of been looking at it the wrong way.

Havn't played it yet. Been waiting for official launch, but things like this makes me rethink my purchase...

I've been playing ffxiv arr and it works pretty well, but started to get old after awile. I don't think I have ever tried a sandbox mmo b4, so figured I'd try out AA. Confused on what to do now.

People were allowed to play their previous beta's characters. I messed around my with level 25 guys a few times from CB-4.

As for leveling speed, not really sure how fast it is. I only got to level 30(with my previous level 25 guy), but then again, I didn't devote much time to it considering all the work I would have done in Open Beta was going to be wiped tomorrow.

Even with Auroria mob XP cut in half, and then pulled out of the game entirely for the first few months of Live, it will still be possible to hit 50 just by zooming through the quests within 24 hours /played.

Everyone who hit 50 quickly in beta did it based on knowledge of the game, from Alpha.  The only cheap trick that exists now is labor potions along with the double xp from labor potion.  Both are in the p2w shop.  5k labor + the labor xp pot is good to get you nearly 3 levels iirc.  Since labor XP is awarded as a percentage of your current level, this comes in really handy in the 40s.  So if you do sleep at all, labor pot leveling should be done once you've quest grinded your last level of the night.

What being able to compete in PvP has to do with the speed other players level up?

    Just asking :x

Take your time leveling up. Learn and test your skills, there's so much to try. You will be ganked by capped level players anyway. We all will!

Isnt a fast-to-hit level cap more beneficial to you if you're a casual gamer...?

If it took the hardcore players 1 month to hit level cap, that means it's gonna take you 2-3 times longer. That's 2-3 months for you to hit cap and 1-2 months you'll be behind in terms of progression.

I don't see the problem here...If you're worried about content, this game has plenty of content for you to explore/do even once you've hit level cap.

But you really shouldn't expect to keep up with any hardcore players if you're only gonna play 4 hours a day.

For an "asian grinding" mmo that people like to generalise.
It takes but a few days to level to max.
16 hours for the hardcore and 3 or 4 days for the normal players who set their mind to it.

Its alot better then the boring deathmarch like say ESO.
Altough the gear in Archeage with 14 tiers and one tier being named Mythic you can gues that this is almost imposible to get and only the most dedicated persistend hardcore nolife mofo might ever get a few pieces of this gear.

Some will say its a grind, in reality its almost imposible to get.

ONLY 4 hours a day, funny guy.

And don't worry you can easily beat a lvl 50 with a lvl 40 toon. Level desn't mean much.

Nothing new. People have been racing through content and using whatever xp exploits they can find to get to level 50 in a matter of days for years now. Especially on newly released MMOs.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

    OP  I shake my head.

If you couldn't keep up in other MMOs with 4 hours of play because the time it takes to get to max level is longer , shouldnt you be able to keep up in AA because it only take a few days to hit max?

It would mean that , you wouldn't have to spend a year to hit 50 , and maybe just a month.   After that everyone is on the same page.........   I guess you don't want everyone to be on equal footing.   You would rather be good at an MMO because your gear trumps anything and your skill bar one shots all low levels instead of actual player mentality and skill.

OP you are not alone.  There are others like you who think they should be able to roflstomp other players because they spend more time in the game and not because they are a good player.

I've been reading for 6 years now "Level cap already????" topics.

It will happen in this MMO and in the next one. And in the one after that.

Guildwars, but it is more of a CORPG than a MMO. GW2 works as well, though.

Any game with gear focus or slow leveling is close to impossible though.

But yes, it will happen in any MMO that doesn't have a Lineage 2 like grind or a system similar to Eve.

With the way current MMOs are designed and the fact that a lot of players have a lot of time to burn through content at an insane pace means that reaching max lvl is childs play to them. I admit it's a bit off putting, but this could just be the fact that I'm jealous as I don't have the time to do it myself these days.

There are always people who will rush through the content. Expect the 'there is nothing to do at end game' complaints to follow quickly thereafter.
