Guild Wars 2: Living Story Picks Up Again on November 4th

After yesterday's major Guild Wars 2 update that included a large number of quality of life improvements, ArenaNet has announced today that the Living Story will pick up again with the November 4th update.

At the culmination of the first half of Season 2, Tyria’s leaders had gathered for a secret summit at the Grove, at the base of the sylvari’s sacred Pale Tree. They proved an easy target for Mordremoth’s forces, facing a surprise attack by the Shadow of the Dragon.

Tyria’s heroes are now scattered across the world but in pursuit of one goal: how to bring the battle to Mordremoth. The secret may lie in a vision delivered by the Pale Tree moments after she was badly wounded by the Shadow of the Dragon.

Keep an eye on the Guild Wars 2 site.

It's hard to get excited about this after actually playing the prior iterations.

Improvement over Season 1 but not much is actually there.  I suppose making content like this takes time.  Quarterly large updates or these little drips every few weeks , hmm..   Not sure what I prefer.  Although this next one isnt due until Nov 4 now.

Season 2 had a rather good story so far but it's hard to get hyped over new chapters, when they announce them 2 months prior to the release.

hmm.. well since they just turned NGE... oops typo ;) NPE into a grindy, kiddie game with Chinese browser game style, level locked content I can't level an alt for more than ten mins in game without getting bored to tears. And since I'm bored with my L80 character,  I think I'll pass.

Over the years the living story is nothing worth mentioning. You get this type of free content patched in every sound MMO be it free or subbed. After two years I still wonder, when Anet will graps what it takes to keep a MMO alive...

Who created the Guild Wars world? It's really uninspiring. I'm surprised anyone cares about what happens in these updates because the setting for the game is just not very good. It's like they wanted an anything-goes anime prop box and threw all this shit together to make It happen. The art design is pretty damn good but the mishmash societies and cultural tropes used are bland. They should never update their story, and should just put in more abilities and such. If GW2 actually expanded its abilities and had more interesting progression it would be a lot better off.

I agree. Tho I have to add GW1 world was pretty awesome, the GW2 world is just a watered down, dumbed-down childish version of what it was in GW1.

I also agree on game additions. But apparently Anet knows better what their community wants than the community itself. Funny. If they only listened to their community once instead of adding their "exciting new changes" that basically ruin the game even further every single time, we could have a great game...

Oh well... maybe in a different universe...
