ArcheAge, what's your thoughts about it now that's finally here.

I've been too busy enjoying Path of Exile, completely free to actually pay attention much to the launch of the game. ArcheAge is  F2P, but for me I see that as "infinite trial" which is a great approach in my opinion, but still if I could spend $10-15 every 3-4 months and enjoy all the content and be able to compete with others evenly...ArcheAge would've took my $ right away! Spending $50-60 a year vs $180+ is a big difference.

Based on what I know I don't feel installing the big client right now. I'll just wait for few months and see what type of launch the game will have and go from there. If I was extremely bored, without a game I would certanly play it. Reality is we are entering in 2015 and for any MMO to take $ off me it has to set a new standard for the genre. I just still don't see that in ArcheAge, feels too generic and the IP is kinda overdone.

If they can truly have a functional economy, if they have a great combat/pvp system, some good competition and handle the security well I don't see how this game could fail. One thing is certain, it's the best MMO in 2014 in my eyes, far better choice than ESO, Wildstar or anything else that came out. Even WOW:WoD expansion when it comes I won't be purchasing for the first time on launch.

Blizzard has a lot to do to regain my trust...if all it left me dry of content and without a great MMO not once but twice for over a year. So ArcheAge might benefit positevely from this Anyways, I gave my 2 cents how I view ArcheAge right now. It's certanly a money grab game and if it can prove itself superior to all the F2P MMO's and other type of games out there it will surely take my $.

Well there is no way anyone with a brain plays PoE completely free would be my start, you almost have to get more bank tabs. But AA is really mediocre but better than the normal crap we have been getting like ESO and Wildstar.

I was going to subscribe on release and stay for a while, but after seeing their CashShop I'm not even sure if it's worth the time to try it for free. Game is made for whales and peasants and I'm neither.

Still not sure if I want to download.  I don't like world pvp or pay to win.  Not sure if all that is just bad rumors.

Even though I'm a founder, knowing how much of a manic rush everything will be at launch is keeping me away right now.

I recall in Alpha, once the new, shiny wore off suddenly you could mine iron nodes almost at will, with few competitors, and good housing plots opened up everywhere as people moved on to the betas.

So I think I'll wait a while, if the game is good, it will still be going strongly in 3 months or more, however it should be more stable, the economy well founded and understood by many.

I've got some significant vacation around the holidays, perhaps I consider joining then.

If they open up new servers on the official release date, it would probably be worth checking out.  A similar game that is not yet out in Western markets,  Black Desert, looks like a superior game in almost every way, though ArcheAge's flexible character class system has some merit.

    Well,

So far I see it as very viable for F2P players, yes you may not own Land, but there are Public Farms and you can join a Friend a familly or a Guild which can give you access to their Facilities.

Most importantly what I do like about AA, is that there is no Pay to Win. I wish the game was Pay to Play, but it is F2P so my next criteria is P2W...most F2P games resort to that money grab to make profits and it kills the game slowly.

AA store has nothing that is Pay to Win. It only has Cosmetics and Convenience.

Nothing I see there which a player can buy and wear and insure a win in PvP engagement, hence no pay to Win.

Some people think buying Labor is pay to win but I disagree, it is a Boost just like XP Boost and others.

Now, converselly to some here, I plan to pay the monthly Patron I was ready for a Subsription, paid one since UO anyways, and am used to Sub,.

But if the game starts moving towards P2W, I am canceling it, I  do not care what houses etc I am going to lose with it, and if the direction keeps towards P2W, I will sadly quit this game too.

it is as simple as that.

As far as Fun, the game is the closest to UO that any game has come since SWG, so yes, it is really fun! For both F2P and Paying players.

The game has all the ingredients for Meaningful Player Interaction for Political Intreagues, for Conflict (PvP Naval battles, PvP Sieges PvP Territorial Conquest, Kingdom Buuilding)...plus Production Crafting artisanship, Adventuring, Trading, Player economy.

The rest is really up to the players.

Don;t have the money to pay a cash shop game. It's one of those games that are "free" but you'll be a second rank citizen unless you pay lots of money.
