Well i've had no problems. I logged in during the "chaos" played for a few hours, took a break then logged in again. Not one problem except the queues which are normal for headstarts.

This headstart wasn't even in the top10
Try to log on now! people cant log on server senymore. That includs me!

There's actually a few servers on the European side that have crashed 6 times today. On top of that the login servers seem to be failing completely now, not only for Archeage but also for their other services.
Last night I played about 2 hours, and spend about 3-4 hours in queues. Today I may have played 2 hours tops, but the Eanna server was down for 7. Can't make characters on another server either, because only 2 slots, and character deletion takes 24 hours
I'm not complaining, things have gone much worse with other releases. But Trion asked for the highest price for founder packs I've ever seen (without physical items, at least), then I expect a bit more.
All joking aside, this is why I never pay up for these kinds of things. They almost never come close to living up to expectations. The only people more likely to be disappointed are people who go all in for crowd funding a project.
Anyway you look at it, it is not acceptable for them to do this. It is a F2P game but they requested a huge amount to alpha and beta test that includes headstart and also ask for the same amount for those who did not purchase for those previous test just to get into the headstart.
If it was a regular sub mmorpg where you buy the box and you get a headstart or free month ok but this time around it is different. You can try to help Trion by giving every excuse you want but this is not acceptable anyway you look at it. This game is out for so long now and they had plenty of time to test things out.
I am not even part of the founders i did not buy any package and i feel i did the right decision this time around not to pay the 150$ for this crap publisher that does not know how to manage there own servers.
Edit : for all the months they had this thing running with that many people playing and also all the closed beta test they did with the founders and the regular people gaining access i am sure they even got more then what currently is trying to access there servers at this very moment. I can assure anyone that not everyone is stupid enought to get a 150$ founders pack at the last minute for 4 to 5 days headstart. So there is not more people trying to access the game now then there was the full time it was in alpha and beta. So what is the reason they have issues now that they even have more servers then in alpha and beta?
You aren't owed money because you can't get into the Headstart, you patron status is not counting down..
I wish I could say that finally an MMO had a successful launch, but nope. My expectations proved correct, any big name MMO launch seems to have issues and "end of the world" posts like this. Trion is doomed and so is Archeage.. whatever will we do.

I work for a school board and there are two times a year that teachers jam the networks to use online services that we need for our work. It always crashes. . freezes etc. They just are not willing to put out the money for infrastructure that they are only likely to need two times a year for a week or so.
I am guessing this is the same thing. It will die down and get sorted and they will have saved money. People who are lining up and freaking out to play the first day. . they know. . .are going to still play after regardless of the anger etc. It also keeps people like me waiting a few days when we hear about the problems. They are unlikely to lose customers and they know it.
Maybe they could have rented some servers for a few weeks though or had some level of staggered entry based on different versions of pre-release copies etc.
This happens too often though for them to not have a fix if they wanted to spend the money. I love how companies hype their game and then say , "we were crushed by the unexpected success of the game". . . BS.
This one is probably the worst considering the importance of the land rush. In GW2, you weren't missing much other than time. In AA, you are missing the possibility of getting good land, which is one of the MAJOR features of this game.

Except in Archeage you can't simply merge servers, because people own land that is tied to the individual servers. I'm sure that's why they have been conservative on the amount of hardware, and probably too conservative.

Luck and Dedication were always going to be a part of this land grab. Don't get me wrong, I was REALLY looking forward to setting my house down today. But whatever. What are you going to do?
Everyone is dealing with the same queues, login errors. There will be future chances at land, I guarantee 40% of landowners leave the game in the first few months anyway.

I would say Brunch... late breakfast early lunch. Food would be more breakfast based, maybe Eggs Benedict, wheat toast, bacon or sausage. Something that won't fill you up so you can still have lunch later.
I would have thought Open Beta would have had more players than Pre-Launch.
Open Beta had no problems (at least the times I logged in to play) so I'm not sure why now they are having difficulties. Someone in my Guild mentioned because of purchasing off the store but that seems like a stretch.

Brunch is a replacement for lunch though. It doesn't occur before it, it takes its place.

This isn't about letdown or dissapointment, so far Archage is delivering what they set out... just the pre-launch is having a bit of a rough time.
These things happen because of incompetence, not hardware limits. It's like with Apple a few days ago that couldn't keep up their stream, it had nothing to do with hardware limits, just an incompetent engineer.

I think he means secondsies.
No such thing
any hungry hobbit could tell, pre-lunch is elevensies of course, and post-lunch is tea (or afternoon tea, but it's better to call it just tea, it's shorter to pronounce so there's more room for eating)
I hate it when pre-lunch gets messed up. Why can't anybody get the appetizers right!
As far as Archeage is concerned, I avoided founders pack specifically because I saw this kind of trouble brewing - I feel bad for people who paid good money only to find that Trion's systems let them down.

Also communication is severely lacking.

Lunch is always busy. I suggest eating a late breakfast and then an early dinner. It really helps cut down on the lines.
