I didn't quite understand why Firefox always seemed fast in the beginning and then slowed down when I tried other browsers.
Well, it's ad block plus, it slows down any browser considerably.
Many people are using an alternative like Blue Hell Firewall.
It was recommended by Mozilla at the end of 2013: https://blog.mozilla.org/theden/2013/12/04/13-best-firefox-add-ons-of-2013/
It's clean and way better than Ad Block Plus because it made my browser much faster.
Try it and tell me what you think please.

Or you could just watch the 15 second ads. Most people get ad block so they don't have to see ads on youtube. But what you don't realize is that these ads are what maintain the sites, youtube channels, and blogs that you love to watch and read. Many sites are entirely ad supported and by blocking out their ads you deprive them of their primary line of income. It wouldn't be such a huge deal if a small minority of users were doing it, but it seems that everyone is using it. It can only lead to disheartening results. Many sites to include Hulu.com are incorporating measures that won't allow users to view content on their site if they have any ad blocking programs enabled. It won't be long before more sites are jumping on this bandwagon Google is already discussing it in internal talks and may implement it into Youtube.
The moral here? Just put up with the few measly ads. Most are literally about 15-30 seconds long and anything longer than that generally has a skip button after about 5 seconds. If you can't wait 5 seconds to see a youtube video then you have absolutely no patience. Not to mention that companies invest tons of money into advertising that is apparently not reaching anyone. Many of these ads are HILARIOUS too! There's a EA ad that was aired to advertise Madden NFL 15. Probably one of the most creative and funny commercials I have seen in a while. I would not have seen it if I had ad block on.

AD block and other programs sometimes break sites as well...as the ads are integrated into some of the CSS coding and it makes them display in a funny way...
