Funny. Its what I call everyone of these " there is no land for housing left" posts. Well you have no idea what you are talking about. SO the " Safe" Areas filld up fast and we all KNEW they would. BUT What you fail to see is there are HUGE amounts of untapped land in PVP areas in which to put your house/farm. The game isnt made for EVERYONE TO GET WHAT THEY WANT.
People want Sandbox they got a sandbond then they complain becuase they really dont know what a sandbox is. Waaaa I didnt get my hous/farm down . Well guess what that is what a SAND BOX IS ALL ABOUT. Its limited PERIOD!
Complaining you are a Parton and you didnt get your house down is funny to me WHY didnt you? My guild and I 40+ ALL got our houses down within 45 minutes our farms in 20 more so why didnt you? You should have known, should have planned.

Oh and Land Seekers Look in the PVP areas tons of free land. If you arent a carebear.
The game flopped in Asia hard for a reason (and not just Korea).
We're beginning to see those reasons now.
It was quite clear that Trion kept the "beta/alpha" running in order to siphon off as much cash as they could before people realise the game isn't worth a single dime it was almost like their mask or veil if you will protecting them. It allowed them and other people to hide behind the "HEY BUD ITS BETA" wall. despite the fact that even their so called alpha was a fully released 1 year old game in other parts of the world.
During this extensive "testing" phase they fleeced people for all kinds of in-game purchases, patron memberships and even huge expensive "play all you like" buy-in packages. They really never made a single change beyond a text string, which makes it quite clear Trion have no development ability with this game; they're simply the custodians of this project.
Is the game the worst I've ever seen? Of course not - it has its moments and features. is it enough to spend lots of money on and really hold anyone but the die hard niché fans? Hell no.
Wait I played in the Alpha and the Beta and I never once saw an IN-GAME purchase. Please stop talking out of your azz and do a bit more research...kay.
It sounds like people posting on here don't realize that those playing now, those in game, those complaining about queues and those talking about no space to build anything ARE the paying customers. There are NO Free to Play players even in the game yet. All these issues are happening with their $50-$150 paying customers.
If this is how they treat a paying customer base, you think it will improve with a non-paying customer base?

Good point. Trion though isn't the developer/ publisher they were when Rift launched. If anyone remembers how well that went, and I mean it went flawlessly, they launched with something like 30 servers.
They have some infrastructure problems these days. In Rift today just about every battle ground for example is lagged to hell, one's that used to run really well before the F2P conversion. I guess when you don't have a predicable income stream you have to cut back on system / staff /support.
I think TRION won the Archeage publishing deal based on how well RIFT launched but those days are long gone. As we can see by the number of servers they tried to get away with for Archeage. Like seven for NA?

Their job was to "localize" the game, which meant preparing it for the NA and EU markets. Their job was supposed to be to know and predict their customer base in those markets since XLGames wouldn't ave a clue. Alpha and Beta testers were telling them for months - NO MORE SPACE - when it came to lands and housing. Guilds were outlining their exact plans in plain sight to encompass as much space as one person could. They launched it anyway.
I still like the game a lot, but this had to be one of the worse launches in these last few years. The queues are catastrophic (several HOURS, and it's just for the founders!), game stability is average, "you've been disconnected by the gods" and welcome to the 2 hours queue again is frequent, not to mention when you can't log it at all and you just get the damned cinematic.
And yeah, many NPCs still have Korean voice over, which is intolerable considering the time this game was in alpha/beta. And also all the farming spots taken so new players can't even use their scarecrow.
Very, very bad launch, and some very bad design on the land management too despite what we alpha and beta testers told them.
I'm disappointed, even more because the game is really good otherwise.
That's really the heart of the problem right there. If this was a shitty game, no one would care. People would leave and not even comment.
I even posted on this same forum how the game "won me over". The game's publisher, however, is now on my blacklist of "companies to never go near again".

UO built an Empire on the housing "shortage".
Anyone guestimate the number of plots available.
Multiply this by $15 and its a nice little earner. Even those guys who don't play anymore wont give up sub cos the house plot has them hooked.
Anyone know how long house takes to decay from a cancelled sub or unpaid tax?
I didn't get head start but coming in on Tuesday.
This housing shortage is a positive for me.
