Funniest part about this thread is all the people saying, "the launch was so terrible, DC's and endless loops".  This happened Saturday because DDOS attacks which also happened quite a lot in GW2, Wildstar, etc.  This was not Trions fault.  Other than that the game has been 100% playable!

The queue times suck but the game itself is fine and the fact that there are such long queues means that people are playing the game.  Other than the DDOS on Saturday I crashed out once and had to go back into an hour queue.

day 1 I locked up in the rush trying to get a wind talisman, requeue for 2 hours, lose out on house, get back in 2 hours later, "the gods have disconnected you" after 10 minues , soanother 2 hour queue. 30 minutes later game locks up while fighting a mist fiend. hour and a half queue. Got back in actually got to play for a few hours when the graphics start I dunno mutliplying themselves over and over for lack of a better description, cant see a thing, have to control alt delete out, after another hour on the queue, I decide its time for bed. Thats 5 and a half hours in the queue on day one.

day 2 get up early cant log in, takes trion several hours to update status, waited patiently for 4 hours. Game comes up, but I cant log in and the game keeps sticking on the green splash screen, I spend 2 hours trying 15 different "fixes" from the forum. Finally after I just say screw it and come back a few hours later where "magically" I log right in right back in to a 2 and half hour queue. Finally I get in, and at the boat loading screen, it freezes  again. So, task manager out, restart, nother 2 hour queue. Finally I get some time in, grind a bunch of quests up to 15, spend the rest of the night trying to find somewhere to plant a farm and build a house. I was unsuccessful, after some odd hours, I decide to call it a night after not finding a single plot. 4 hours of downtime, 2 hours trying to fix what is supposedly a common problem, and another 4 and a half hours in the queue.

day 3 I go to log in, and again, it freezes on the screen with the boat on, and I have to restart my computer. I log in and realize all my guildmates are 10+ levels ahead of me now, most have farms, and all Ive got is more than 10 hours of queue time this weekend, and not so much as a 8x8 farm to show for it. So I go to the Trion website, where it keeps telling me "OOPS, try back later". So Im unable to even get anything done there, so I find a phone number for trion, and I called it. Well the recording says "we dont have phone customer service anymore, use the online method" Great the online method that isnt working right now. So after repeatedly trying to navigate their website for about another hour, I finally get somewhere, That somewhere was nearly a 3 hour wait to talk to a customer service rep. She basically said all she can do is send up a ticket to the higher ups.

So yeah, I spent most of my weekend staring at queues NOT playing, and NOT getting the farm and levels that I paid for.

Thats horrible. I'm sorry to see things like this happen. That is like $50 a day if you think about it. You could have gone out and bought TSW, GW2, and a sub based game like FFXIV:ARR. Hang in there, it will get better!

So yeah this all totally sucks for you.  However, I am not totally sure that all your crashing is Trions fault. When you talk about lock ups and blue screens etc those are usually hardware/driver issues.  I would make sure that your video drivers are up to date.  If you played in beta I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the game fresh as sometimes there are old beta versions of ini files and such lurking on machines.

All I know is that other than Saturday I DC'd once...  And yes I totally agree the queues blow.

ANYONE who buys a Founders Pack or Pre-Release for the headstart knows that it is a gamble the state of the game, Even if it launched almost perfectly there would be those people who's systems for some reason got errors etc

Despite the age of my pc, cpu etc I've been lucky in that most the faults some seem to experience I didn't get, funnily often it seems to be the people with shit hot systems who get the most problems.

For me i will be looking into AA when it officially opens tomorrow as the open world housing is something I loved from UO, SWG & AO. Sure some say it causes a blight on the landscape but then others don't give a monkeys what their character looks like, just it's skills etc.

Horses for courses i guess, though i know I will be remaking my character for about the first month trying to decide what i like (believe me i'm terrible, I have a LTS on CO from ages ago and after starting the game again I've managed to get to Level 6 lol

oh wow a mmorpg launch that is not going smooth.. that's a first.

Oh look, another MMO with launch problems.

When will people learn? Lol. If you aren't prepared for a game to have a rough launch, then don't buy early access packages. Does it suck to pay for early access? Absolutely, but this is not exactly a new thing. There have been pleanty of rocky launches that we conveniently forget every time a new game comes out. Not a single MMO in history has had a smooth launch. They've all been varied degrees of disfunctional (from que times, to server troubles, login / account problems, etc.).

This one does seem particularly bad, yes, and that's why I'm waiting to see how Trion handles these issues. But to basically put a 'day 1' review of a game that just started it's early access seems premature. Give it a few days, see if the issues get smoothed over. See if they end up giving adequate compensation for the problems, or not. And if they still fail to deliver, then cry the sky is falling.

    Day 1: perfect

Day 2: Daytime EST was horrible... Nighttime was fine

    Day 3: Fine

    Day 4: Fine

This doesnt represent the game at all.   Yes some players myself included Error 2028 couldnt download the client... It caused me to be late for 2 hours.

But the servers were stable and perfect first day.

Oh my, if only 20% of people here would embrace common sense we would have a way nicer community with better threads.

FFXIV was the same fucking thing..." DOOOM DOOOM DOOOOM" again, 'cause the first game was terrible not only at release date. Now look at it, one of the healthiest mmos out there.

Use your brains for a single bit, MMOs releases are crap and always will be, that only means there's so much people tryign to play so their infra is going to shit.

Wanna have a nice experience ? wait for a 2 weeks at least, follow patch notes and wait for things to be stable or cope with standards initial problems and dont fucking cry everywhere.

Ill explain my reasons on even giving it a go.

    1) Rift was the bench launch Ive ever seen

    2) The game has been out for 3 years already in russia and korea

Given those two facts, I dont think its out of the realm of possibilities to think that that the launch wont be a disaster.

Then servers went down etc, but I have been able to play pretty much when I wanted to. Apart from now though, when I get the intro looped over and over ;)

um..... how is it an incredible smooth launch if you could only play for 16 hours without problems before the game broke?

I dont think that is a smooth launch.

This ones for the trolls: Unless your heads stuck in your butts, gamers today are a finicky bunch and will just move on to the next game that comes along with little thought to the last. Without land, AA will become the last, with people logging on now and again just because their bored. So all the bragging about how much land you have will be a mute point down the road when your advertising in Faction chat trying to get a group together to do a dungeon or RAID and get no replies because no ones there..XD

This was/is a faceplant of a launch. Even worse than ESO's. Maybe worse than FFIV, and that one was bad.

What happens tomorrow when another hundred-thousand people want to get on and play?

That's right. Another faceplant, this time from the top of the stairs...
