Trion had one of the most successful launches of all mmorpgs with Rift.

WHo exactly is already sitting at the "big people table"? They all experience most of these issues at launch.

While AA's headstart is normal as far as MMO launches, the real test begins Tuesday. This is quite the venture releasing such a hyped MMO F2P on it's first official release. I don't think that has ever happened.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

LMAO. How quickly they forget or never experienced the launch of WoW.

Servers crashing, massive lag, bugs out the ass.... the list goes on. Some servers crashed for weeks. People received extensions of their free play time because of issues.

So NO, Blizzard isn't at the big boy table either.

How is it normal lol? are we playing the same game? Their servers can't handle even just the players that bought founder packs, I had a 4hr queue on EU, then get in, disconnect 10 mins later, 2 and a half hours queue again.

I agree with the OP, they got in over their heads with this launch. And it's not hard to see, their forums are FULL of complaints, the reddit thread as well.

What may help on Tuesday, if you can call it help, is that there isn't much land left for other players. That may turn a good number of players away from the game.

I haven't had any issues at all with crashes or lag. I have a good rig though. If you are crashing it's your specs not Trion. If you are missing preorder items or floating through the world, that is Trions fault. Long wait times in queues is part of playing MMO's. If you are upset about a 4 hour wait time, choose another server...We are all still patrons and on Niama, I'm in within 10 min peak times.

I'm not defending AA, I have just been following the forums here, reddit, FB, and the official forums. Most of the complaints are of course not being able to login and the land problem. If we can take in account the DDoS attack (if it was real), then the rest of the problems are just your normal launch problems every new release has. The land problem is just something that was bound to happen with the design of the game.

    edit: hmm, I guess I was defending AA. I think I meant I'm not a fanboi. :)

WOW...you don't even have to think back that far... They had severe issues getting a simple hack and slash out the door, with over a decade to work on it.

I always just assume it's the same people but one day when it's slow at work I really want to go through the old threads from other games and see if it really is all the same people trying too hard to make new games seem much worse than they really are.

All this fake drama is just silly.

huh? re-read things again. Someone mentioned that Blizzard hadn't had problems with launches and I mentioned Diablo 3.

Edit: Diablo 3 had a disastrous launch. Oh sorry Thestrain, I had to re-read it myself. I was being ironic. :)

I'm sure you'll find a lot of crossover. Just thinking back a few years to TOR it is a lot of the same peeps still bashing every MMO that has come along. If you look at dates, many current accounts date back to some MMO's release. Essentially in my assumption, when they lost access to the account they did it with prior.

but you also mentioned Rift to counter bad launch of AA. So i guess when Blizzard is mentioned they are not allowed to have bad launches because ofcourse they never had success like Rift.

From now on we will always mention Rift the moment someone criticises AA's bad launch.

It was real - all games went down - Rift/Defiance/Archeage in US and EU.

Also a hacktivist group claimed responsibility

Also it was captured on global DDOS tracking sites.

Don't buy into the tinfoil hat "DDOS was fake" propaganda

I agree, but you have to throw that in as kind of a disclaimer or people just bring it up anyway. /shrug The more forum discussions I read the more I gather this launch hasn't been as bad as I first thought it was going to be. yay

You make a claim - you have NOTHING to back it up with - no points that you even bring up.

Just empty accusation - for what purpose?

hmmm...whelp, I am a founder, I really like this game, will be playing and paying to do so, and I am in the Head Start and couldn't get the game to LAUNCH all day, and now just 15 mins ago, got the game to launch and I am in a 2 hour plus cue.  Yesterday when I would sit in cue for hours on end, I would get CTD 5-10 mins after I got on the game....and then go right back to a 2 hour cue, lol.

don't take it personally bro, their Head Start sucks.  No big deal, its just IMO and you can even take a look at their official forums if you need further validation that it aint going too good and lots of people have issues/concerns.  If you want to sell access to your game, well, you kinda need to provide that access...at least that's how I think.

either way, I think its cool all you people are rushing to defend TRION, I respect that, every company needs a lap dog.
