Given that I haven't been able to log in due to every issue under the sun....who knows

Honestly it's really fun. I didn't know if I was going to like it or not, but the way it's set up the class system being build what you want type, the fact that you can level anything on one character, and switch it out for another class and level that up too is nice. I had a few issues in the very beginning with the payment, but after I got that all squared away I've been constantly on and not running into any problems. Game is good so far. I say it lives up to the hype.

[mod edit] There is always a 3rd uninterested/show me results option.  This isn't the 1st time or the 2nd or the 3rd this has happened and been brought up on numerous occasions.

Also AA hasn't been hugely hyped.  It has received about as much hype if not less than WS which wasn't hugely hyped.  And Darkfall hugely hyped? LOLOLOLOL!!!!!

The small but vocal have been hyping this game, it didn't receive much at all until open beta hit which every MMO goes through that.

It hasn't for me so far, but I only played a little of the open beta... waiting til it launches today to give it a better shot.

Exactly. None of them really do live up to any hype as far as I have seen. Some end up being fun, this particular title was fun before they 'fixed it to death' imo, but others still find it fun. Fun or not, it did not, much like any other game I see on this site (and many others) live up to the hype. This all started back in the 'wow killer' day's and the BS was not true then, nor is it true now.

I would like to see one reviewer leave just one unbiased opinion that would be cool. At least stop over-hyping games and just leave an objective opinion or review no need to sensationalize all these games.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

I dont agree. The diference of hype between ESO and AA is/was huge, AA is not even close to ESO in hype.

A huge % of post around AA was discuss about business model and only a few about the game itself.

So imo the question and the poll is not correct.

Isn't it still head start?  Wont you just get results from people who are committed financially / psychologically to the game?  Or people who have played for a day or so only.  I guess there was the beta stages.  No game lives up to they hype.  That is what marketing departments are for.  Imagine an ad that said.  "Our game is pretty good.  It has a lot of things other games you already play have but we added gliders and are going for an open world PvP thing. . kinda like some other games. . but our combination, we think, will be better, at least at generating money."

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!

I'm not voting because the game isn't even really live yet.

It's much to early to make such calls.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

This poll should have been asked a couple weeks down the road. No one has the experience to answer the question, considering it is a f2p game and no one has gotten much if any play time.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Does any game really live up to its hype anymore? Console or PC?

    Nope!

AA is definitely interesting and not a bad game at all. It is still rough around the edges and the little things that the developers  should thought of were overlooked to make it truly successful to me.

Anyways you can say the same thing about every mmorpg released the last 10 years. It's good to know we are keeping a streak when it comes to mmorpg's though image

i hate it when polls have no "Just let me see results" option :(
  • KabaalKabaal Member UncommonPosts: 3,042
Bit early to be asking something like this.
  • MardukkMardukk Member RarePosts: 2,222
I'm pretty sure the game is not released yet.  Ask me in a couple weeks.

This game has not even launched yet, but even so I think it is and will live up to the hype, AA is an endless story, it's not like the wow, wildstar, eso, gw2's - no the story of AA is yet to be written by the community and it changes direction on the fly overnight your relationships in game can change the entire landscape. I'm watching it unfold on twitch, history is being written, soft alliances being made, the stage is set for some really special moments in gaming that we haven't had in a while.

Polls like these are somewhat biased. You have to keep in mind that all of the players that are really enjoying the game, are inside the game playing it. Not reading the forums.

I voted yes. I was hesitant to purchase the game, but I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised to enjoy it. I too would be playing the game instead of reading the forums, but I am at work.

I voted, shockingly I know. but in reality does a games every live up to the hype here.  Its sad but in many ways we set a game to fail.  With all the differing opinions of what we want in an MMO, I think its near impossible for that game to every exist.
  • PulsarManPulsarMan Member Posts: 289
For me, yes. Having a blast at the moment. I'm only sad I have real world obligations. :/
  • WaldoCornWaldoCorn Member UncommonPosts: 235

Hype - Hyperbole exaggerated claims not meant to be taken literally

So are the exaggerated claims exaggerated? Yes by definition

Are they taken literally? At least enough to be polled.

Are they not meant to be taken literally?  ummm ..........

    No tlive yet.

I dont think you cleary grasp the reality of how many people actualy are in the headstart.

ALL servers had wating lines and thats for 6 servers BEFORE the f2p peeps come in.

U dont wanna know what happens when at 19:00 the f2p crowd gets on.

I would think there are more F2P then guys with headstard.

    You do the math.

Anyways this game is so HYPED there even 3 Goldsellers with Patron status on my server :P (rotfl)

But they they prolly find more (idiots) that buy from then and then get their account taken over and end up selling more gold :P

Having so much fun  which is surprised me since i havent been happy since early SWG!!!

Is it perfect?  HELL no but compared to GW2 or SWTOR  the gameplay and open pvp  is fun...

  • holdenhamletholdenhamlet Member EpicPosts: 3,772
Yep definitely.  Tons of stuff to do aside from leveling in a beautiful world with open PVP in areas and a functional ocean.  Best MMO I've played and I've played most of them.
