1) There is a known issue with Patron status being given to some F2P players. This is affecting the queues as well as allowing F2p players access to things they are not supposed to be able to do. Trion is aware of this (effing huge) bug and is working on a fix.
2) The Starter packs are per character, not per account. So while the items are worth more in credit cost and seem better than those in the Founder packs, they are an expensive one shot wonder. It still sucks, but Founder packs are good for your first 6 characters (except for Daru chests).
3) There is land available in PvE zones that is zoned for housing but not allowing placement. I don't know if this is a bug or the signs are wrong or they are not yet activated. But they are a flaming pain in the a$$ when there isn't enough land for housing.
I wait in 1.5 hour + ques to get into Kyrios in prime. With the disconnects I receive in such simple things as going to my char select screen it's a bit annoying. Each time I'm back in that que, over 3 hours que'ing today.

Hmm werent you harping on me not too long about how great AA was? Hmm interesting change of tone in just a few hours.

I feel your pain, I spent more than 10 hours in the queue during the prelaunch.
See nothing but salty Qq's from the usual types who have gotten used to wining games with excessive play time. If the plots are being eaten up clearly people are getting on. Maybe be realistic and not think you can plow some new games with hundreds of thousand of players at once and think you will NOT be the problem.
Get a life, they cant biz model these games to accounts for the zillions of people who race to play the first days only to quit a month later.
in the end learn to win by playing better not more.
You are to blame as well as trion. I don;t know why these games don;t do a staged opening. you know this stuff happens literally to every game opening hour but you keep coming back and doing it over and over.
Originally posted by Sephros So am I to blame for buying a subscription today once it was available and then not getting anything for it? Please. They have dropped the ball every which way possible. I had enough gilda stars to plant a house 30 minutes after server up anf now they are going fast.
Your not for the blame for buying a sub time, you have every right to be mad or upset. And you can hit them up after they fix it, hit there live chat ask your money back if you want it. But I don't blame trion 100% or xl games, just in general mmo launch go bad, there only few mmo that didn't have a bad launch day but there was not as big as this one.
Wait until Friday -- a lot of the land was "reserved" with deeds that never had taxes paid. If you examine them, they're only protected until Friday. Come Friday, and days and weeks after, you'll see land turn over, just as we did in alpha. People complaining about all the land being gone don't understand the game, and they don't understand that really, land reservation is part of the PVP, essentially, of this game. It's designed to have the land ownership be contentious.
Shortly, you'll see crowds of people camping tax evader properties, hoping to be the first one to click and place their own house or farm on that spot. It's part of the game.

So what you are saying is that it could be weeks or months before you can even START to catch up with the people who got land at launch?
My wallet is closed for this game. They got my money now they won't get anymore, simple as that. Hopefully others will follow. Founders have been screwed, the pack they have up now for the same amount is better too, a slap in the face.
I don't understand why OP is posting so much crap about AA.
The first night was rough..true, but I played for hours Saturday and Sunday and Monday with ZERO issues.
I paid $50 for head start play...for that I got about 30 hours worth of game time, a glider, $20 credit in the store AND a months subscription worth $15. I wasn't disconnected one time..not once!
So....I basically paid $15 for head start and some in game perks. I'm ok with that. That's about 50 cents an hour!
It's WAY cheaper per hour than say...going to see a movie or a few combo meals at McDonalds.
So hey..OP....get a grip and let's not exaggerate.

You are one of the lucky ones and I hope it sinks in and you enjoy just how lucky you are.
I spent more than 10 hours in queue, and 6 hours during the ddos attack. then 3 more waiting to talk to customer service.
Thats 19 hours of my 4 days. 1/4 of the prelaunch right there. AND I ended up not getting land. Trust me man, I wish I was you.

Screwed not all but many of founders on head start, but the pack have many other item, I am sure people didn't pay for the founder pack for just to get in 4 days sooner for how much they cost.

I feel your pain..but that was Friday night. You can blame the DDOS attacks for that. That wasn't Trions fault. Blame the hacker society.
If you played Saturday thru Monday....like I did, then you still got a good value.
Figure a movie costs $8 ..lasts 2 hrs...if you don't buy popcorn or soda ...that's $4 an hour.....
50 cents an hour?...or $4 an hour?...their is no comparison. Yet people go see movies all the time and don't complain a bit.
Yes...Friday sucked...but Saturday - Monday went fine.
I'm just saying...OP is exaggerating. Thousands played and had fun all weekend long.
I never expected to get a plot...I know how those things go, be patient ...you will get a plot eventually. Trion never promised everyone would get a plot.

what I didnt include were the several hours of fixes that I had to do to get the game running. For several hours I was getting lockups at the green splash screen, and I spent several hours on the internet finding out that its a common prolbem without a clear fix. I only got to play about 8 hours until monday morning when I decided I was done with the B.S. As far as getting a plot eventually, well, I bought the founders pack for a plot, thats all I wanted out of it, and I didnt get it. Its 0 fun listening to your guild assign who is growing what to progress while you cant even participate.
I posted this in the other news article, consider it a buyer-beware until Trion makes up for their greed.
This has been nothing but a disaster so far, and it keeps getting worse.
They also started to sell packs in Archeum/Gold/Silver pricings with significantly better contents than the pre-purchase packs of the same price, as if they couldn't say "thanks for your money now fuck off" any more clearly.
Many of us had very little playtime so far in the 'early access' because of severe server instability, and many people still didn't receive the stuff they paid for, while others received double (or even 8 times, including 6+ months of subscription time). Now, apparently they also gave F2P accounts 3 free months of Patron status, screwing over the queue's and serving as an additional slap in the face to all those who paid for it.
Currently a big -1 Trion... the very worst? No word on compensations, showing the pure greed this company has right now.
Edit: As someone else asked this; The difference in value of the packs goes up to around 50-60 euro, although the website is down mostly so I can't find a link to a more detailed forum post.
I didnt see any thing as horrible as you're explaining..... Out of 4 days I played around 3 days of it and thats including sleeping every night. Sure we weren't able to login a couple times for a little while due to the DDoS attack that was going on throughout a couple days on the authentication server but problems are expected to happen. The launch to live so far has been pretty smooth to be honest and I'm having a blast still.
And no... They did not give F2P accounts 3 months of patron status. They added starter packs in which one is worth $150 and includes 3 months of patron status...... Stop with the misinformation please.

A response worthy of someone who got land, ie got what they paid for.
glad I got in last beta and saw it wasn't for me for the most part reallly I'm a combat guy for the short of it not being able to get in game or play ends my intrest.
While this is of course very bitter for the people who fell for the "founder" pack, everyone could have seen this coming.
If you have followed the developments in Rift and even more Defiance you shouldn't be surprised about all this.
If i would have to predict the future it would look like this:
-bots taking over the game
-account hackings en masse due to security issues not on the player's end
-people quitting in disgust and leaving in droves, abandoned plots everywhere
-Trion (once again) switching to desperation mode which will result in more shady moves, more borderline P2W stunts and the usual gimmicks to bait people into buying packages/long term subscribing while in the end they got less for their money.
-another "interview" of Scott Hartsman on this website loaded with his usual PR speak stating how extraordinary well everything went, how excited everyone is at Trion and what big plans they have for AA.
I really don't envy the situation Trion has with Archeage server congestion. People want more servers now, but we all know the population won't remain this high few months away.
Most MMOs you can just merge servers later or do a Megaserver but obviously with the land that is impossible with Archeage.
I think this brings to light a big reason most AAA MMORPGs don't do open world housing anymore. Smaller more niche and indie games don't have these issues.
In hindsight XL probably should have developed the worlds with vastly more land than a single server population could ever utilize. SWG had this I believe.
Also, allowing people to so easily acquire several plots of land really quick is a very poor design. In my opinion.
Either way, I truly hope they can make this work. It is a pretty nice game overall.

I don't recall harping on you or anyone, not really my style. Just generally prefer to toss facts out there instead of fanning flames. In this case, I still prefer facts but as you can tell from my post, I'm not very happy with today's launch or these really rather noobish errors Trion has allowed to go live.
I'm gonna write Archeage on a bucket and put it on a busy street corner. Figure I should find a couple hundred bucks in there every few days though I expect fans will be disapointed after I replace it with a nicer bucket.
Once all of this fuss dies down then I'll check the game out. This whole issue of land will eventually sort itself out. I hope you dont end up having "real estate" guilds, though I admit I have no idea about all of the ends and outs of the land ownership mechanic and if players can sell land to other players. Since I'm not much on crafting I'm wondering if I would still be able to make a decent living with gathering and selling mats as well as pvp.

I wonder how many of the claimed disconnects can be written on Trion's bill.
And how many on "your" isp.
Since it seems like some people got no issues like that.
But yeah, whatever happens it's their fault, since "you" are the customer.
I was eager to play this game, but i just uninstalled it, seeing what kind of community it has.
I did the misstake back in the days with Aion, im not going to repeat it.
