Looking for a game with horizontal endgame itemization

To be clear, I want items with unique stats not a flat itemization curve with just visual differences (a la guild wars 2).

Its ok if there is some vertical (for example, after a level cap increase though Ideally those would not be too frequent) but it needs to be mostly vertical and have items with rare/unique properties.

 

Examples of some games with itemization like I am looking for: Final Fantasy xi, Everquest
