Your experience on AA

TyranosinTyranosin Member Posts: 56

Can you tell me your experience on AA,

because I played untill level 20 and didn't find anything really special about it ..

Might be that the special things unlock at cap, but I don't know if it's really different from the standard MMORPG line..

Sounds like you have gone into the trap of following the really terrible quest line that AA holds.

Instead you could have sailed on a Galleon or done some of all the crafting options, to level up.

  • I would really like to share my experience. Alas, Trion Worlds will not fix the Glyph program and they keep replying to my support ticket with the same trouble shooting steps that have not worked time and time again.

Jonesing, not quite sure if you shared the same problem as me, but have you tried completely uninstalling glyph and all games attached to it and started over?  Im sure you did, but just checkin.

I'm enjoying it, but I was looking forward to this game for the crafting.

I'm level 13 after three days of playing.  I built a scarecrow farm in the newbie zone and have spent most of my time tending it.  I'm having a great time.

I am a Patron and the longest queue I have seen since buying the sub has been 3 people.  I think I got lucky on the server choice (US Server).  The queue times for some sound terrible.  I would be frustrated as well if that was my experience.

By the way, I had no trouble finding a spot for my farm.  There were tons of open lots.  Again, it is probably the server I am on.  I am not on any of the popular servers that the big guilds were talking about joining.

In Beta I followed the primary quest line and made it to level 16.  At that time I was rushing to see what the game had in store.  I'm very happy being the casual farmer.  At this point in time that is the speed I want =)

I bought patron status.  How do I know it was applied?

I like Themepark games, I like tab targetting, I like crafting, I suck at PVP but still enjoyed getting smashed in the middle of the Ocean on my Guildies rowboat by a Boatload of Pirates.

So far the game has been great =)

Could you? I'm a free player so if I manage to get in, I only usually have a short amount of time to be online. No online means no labor regen. No labor means its a severe pain to gather the mats to or to craft. I lieu of buying labour pots, I cant do much. I could patron but i have yet to see anything interesting enough to make want to. Kinda of a catch 22, no?

Same.  Bug I reported CBT 3 & 4 (in addition to the new ticket I opened for launch and PM sent to Scapes) is still not addressed.

I'm not going to hold my breathe for this one.  It's apparent they have released a mess of a game and on top of that can't seem to get anything fixed.  If the reason for all these problems is because they are at the mercy of XL, well, they should have never taken on this release.

It just seems like they really set themselves up for failure.

You know you have Patron status when you see an ArcheAge buff icon below your character's health bar in game. If it's not there, you don't have Patron status applied.

This is the third time I give it a go and reached about lvl 20 this time, enoying it more this time as I focus less on the mobgrinding quest and instead farming/crafting and exploring.

Horrible experience. I love the game, don't get me wrong but it's just been horrible. People say that MMO launches are bad but AA"s launch is easily the worst I have experienced.

Even wow didn't have such long queues and I was playing on the most populated server. 5-8 hour queues is just crazy. Also there is literally no land on the founders servers. I guess if you are playing on a lower pop server you don't have all these problems but I kind of have the feeling that servers which have no queues now will be low pop servers when the game settles down.

Here is the thing...  AA is not a themepark MMO so the questline is really only there to introduce you to the games mechanics and give you enough gilda to purchase a house and a boat.

The real magic of this game is the openness of the game.  I am level 33 and already I own a farm, have done trade runs, engaged in large scale pvp, own and cared for 3 animals, and experienced open water combat.

The game is yours, do what you like in it.  If you want to be a pirate, get a ship and plunder.  You want to be a mercenary, look for a merc guild and sell your soul for gold, etc.

The first time I tried to do it did not work.  I verified it by opening Glyph then clicking on "Account" at the top.  You can then go to transaction history and see what payments have gone through.  Once it showed up there, it also showed up in game for me.

They way I could tell in game (someone said a symbol in game)  I just looked at my LP max.  It is 5,000 for Patron and only something like 2,000 for F2P.

Is it actually the Glyph program itself, or is it the stage where HackShield just hangs?  I tried every "fix" on the Trion Help Page over and over again and nothing worked.

I managed to fix my problem with HackShield after I discovered Internet Explorer had been broken by a Windows Update.  I never use IE and as a result I didn't realise this.  HackShield uses IE, behind the scenes, to do its updating, and as soon as I repaired my broken IE the game launched flawlessly.

the glyph client is a disgrace to MMO's. I uninstalled everything i had in Glyph. I liked AA but... until the bug is addressed then I won't be playing. Whatever bug it is that slows the processor speed and creates high disk useage is awful. Other than that AA is actually a decent game.

This morning was the first time I have been able to play since the game launched. I got a solid 4 hours in. Up until then all I did was play my xbox one and snap function over to twitch and watch Cohhcarnage play while I played BF4

    This morning

    - I fixed an issue I was having with my gpu drivers - Nvidia has released news ones on the GeForce experience for those of you using it.

    - I managed to run the game just fine in direct x 11 mode, but did get kicked after about 4 hours of time. I will switch to direct x 9 until ArcheAge finally comes out and says dx11 is better.

    - My leveling experience has been better than it was in beta, I felt like I made good progress, I felt like I connected well with the Archer, and that's always important in my book.

    - I have invested no money in this game so far and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, what having no money invested has given me though is a sense of patience I don't normally have. I got kicked earlier and try to log back in and there is 2000 people in front of me, I simply thought of well, the game will level out sooner or later. Again I attribute this patience to the fact that I did not put any real money into this game yet.

    - When it comes to the questing and the community, I have been the initiative taker in creating the raid groups or party groups based upon who I see in the vicinity, I suggest you do the same, the questing and killing is much faster and you feel much more productive, a fringe benefit is that normally the people you pulled into the group appreciate the invitation.

    - The other thought that came to mind this morning as I was playing was that AA actually feels like a world to explore, and that it's been a while since I started playing a game and felt like I'm into something good that's going to stick for a while.

Archeage is a very good queue simulator. Very realistic and gives you plenty of content.you can literally spend all day having fun with the queue.

I played in the Beta and tried to do what I wanted - I tried to explore and ended up hitting glass walls (oh I didn't do the quest line up to where I get the glider). Right, you can do what you want but if you don't you are missing some equipment.

I am so sick of people saying this BS. As a F2P player you can't own land, build a house (even if you could), etc. Would you like me to go on. As the quote goes: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Trion screwed up Rift and every other game they touched so why would this one be any different.

This is total misinformation and it's not the first time someone has said it either.

The quests do NOT introduce you to the game mechanics at all....they are standard fare, linear quests just like any other PVE game would have.

BUT, you can ride a boat, build a house, farm, pvp and lots of other stuff...

Just please don't say that the quests in AA are for introduction to game mechanics...they are purposely put in there for progression's sake.

    Not good.

This does not seem to be a good place to discuss problems though.

Not sure what else to add to this without getting in trouble.

I posted basically the exact things in Trions forums I did here and got response from a dev , here I got banned, Trion forums I got help from a dev.

I really want to know how does a mod here know what Trion does and does not do more than a customer that was living the problem?
