This wasn't a problem in head start because it was only patrons then and people how paid $50+ for the founder's packs. Then the people who wanted to play as F2P or just monthly here and there wanted to get in and the servers were and are flooded.
So there are 3k+ people in queue to get into the game, and people leaving at very slow rates because of all the AFK labor/mount grinding people. It's just a terrible system, and encourages this kind of problem to crop up.
Even though Trion says they are doing something about massive amount of players staying afk i still see huge amounts afk mount leveling and players that are afk, i have never seen an mmo with so many afk players.
They really need to change the LP system to you only gain LP from quests while online and offline.
I"m personally like the idea of players being limited to a max length of time to be logged per day.. AFK or not, once you reach that limit you are are auto kicked and give others a chance to play..
Have to say..... if you want to kill a game that would be the way to do it.

and a 5,000 queue line isn't killing it? EVERYONE deserves a right to play, not just the lucky..
FTP (or non-patron) players ONLY regen LP whilst offline at 250 LP per hour offline, with a max LP of 2000.
Then whilst in-game you expend your 2000 LP then log out for 8 hours (which I think is reasonable) to regen the 2000 again (motivation), or stay in game doing thiings that don't require LP.
Patrons regen 500 LP per hour on or off line, with a cap at 5000.

This is the funniest thing I read all day, it is so true. Goes to most ever other post doing just that probably 80% of the time.
As far as the AFK it is not the labor point regen at all that is keeping people in it is the stupid que. Easy fix is to create an overflow servers without housing stuff (so they don't have to worry about which server you are on) so people can play until they can be moved into the normal server. Should have launched with this feature as it is not a new technology and could have easily been added.

Bad idea? Good idea? Discuss.
The offline regen is interesting... but not at those rates.

Whole problem with MMORPGs that are about economy, crafting, etc is botting, multiboxing, rmt, macroing, cheatng/ exploiting. Since game companies are unable to fix that - then all your "solutions" are not gonna work.
Well unless you wanna change AA into a quest/dungeon token grinder, make everything BOA and non-tradeable.

Should not be to had to fix the mouse riding stuff.
IF your on a mount 45 minutes = kick.
No one ever will be on a mount for 45 minutes.
Yeah, because it is so hard to write one line of script that will auto unmount you after i.e. 44 minute and then mount again.
