Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
This game is going to be around and relevant for a while. There is nothing like it playable, so it's going to remain relevant. People can get all bent out of shape and be bitter and stubborn, but they will be the only one losing out, the game will keep marching on. This game has old school community feel, some of the stuff I have witnessed so far tells me this game is going to be around for the long haul. There are things going on that are unique to you and your guild, the rewards are extremely high and the lows are extremely low, I am overwhelmed, but I just keep going because I can tell this game is something special, especially for us in the NA and EU regions.

Yeah, but I'd at least like to be able to use the patron status I've paid for.
If there was no compensation to patrons for the start I'd be a little pissed ,,,,,but until they actually work the patron problems out I'm not going to worry about it
I'm really sorry you only managed to get in for 2 hours of play but I have to say this.
Two hours and your 36/50. Does nobody else see this as a problem with modern MMO's, this mad dash to the level cap? I mean WTF? Talk about the instant gratification generatrion, is this really what people want today?

Yeah, I just started to think about how little I've been able to play since the game went F2P this week, I literally played for 2 hours.
Between 5+ hour queues and the 6 hour maintenance periods every day I just can't get into the game. I logged onto the game this morning mined 5 Iron nodes and was kicked for another maintenance.
My goal was to literally be 50 this weekend but I simply couldn't get in the game, lol. Oh well I'm at 36 anyways....
That doesn't even make any sense.
You're 36 but have barely been able to play? I'm 18 and have been on every day for multiple hours. Sounds like you've played alot more than you're willing to admit to, yet you feel like complaining for some reason.
My opinion on games is: if they're good, they're still good a launch after month. By then I'll have a dozen reviews, the number of servers will fit to the players, emergency patches will have rolled out, and I saved a lot of time (and if the game doesn't turn out as expected, some money too).

Leveling in this game is incredibly easy, I also don't know what you mean with the instant gratification comment.
Sorry, that wasn't aimed at you personally. It's just the way games are trending to give up rewards, levels, "things" of value so quickly and easily these days, appealing to people looking for the quick win, commonly referred to as instant gratification.
What happened to earning stuff, be it levels or items, whatever? What's happened to the worlds we used to live in where things took time and effort to achieve, giving us that sense of accomplishment that's so lacking in these modern games? I just think it's sad that in a game calling itself a sandbox that it takes so little effort to reach the cap.
This was why I asked the question, Is this really what we want from our games today? Short term distractions we never get invested in because they're so easy they mean nothing. No wonder people hop MMO's so quickly now.

he never said anything about being level 50....he just wants to play the darn game, that he paid to play. why is it so hard for you to understand that ?

What problem? That levels are not considered long-term goals anymore? Nope, no problem at all. Long leveling only make sense when it is interesting, if game doesnt have it, leveling is good for tutorial, nothing more.

Some people are just never satisfied.
In all fairness to the OP, This is how he plays. He manages to level cap far ahead of the curve. I have seen his posts in several threads from different launches over the past couple years.
The last game I bought early access (and the last I ever will) was FFXIV:ARR, and OP did the same thing there.

Maybe the devs should make the damn things interesting then. Instead of the generic crap we're currently being fed.

In the bigger picture though, the way things are being handled tells me that the health of this game over the long haul is more important than the initial money grab. Yes they could easily order more equipment and open more servers, but the lifeblood of the game is having many people on the servers so that there is always something unique going on. The server management going on right now isn't something most mmorpg devs are willing to do, while there is a lot of hate and anger being thrown around, you've got to step back and see that this is for the long term health of the game. Many of us have been waiting several years for an mmorpg that we feel confident in sinking our teeth into and committing to, from what I can tell, that game has finally arrived, that game is ArcheAge.

Well I'd really love to see more developers allow for stat allocation again. It allows for much more unique build. However, stat allocation confuses the current MMO audience which is why they typically steer clear of that type of system.
However, then we get into the debate of Vertical vs Horizontal progression and many of the current audience hates the treadmill.
Agreed. To me this is just further proof of the dumbing down of the genre to appeal to the larger audience. Programming for the lowest common denominator.
What's really annoying for me is that a game calling itself a sandbox also displays these same symptoms. I was looking forward to AA until I got into the beta and saw exactly how things where shaping up. I was looking forward to EQN until they revealed the combat.
I guess I'll just have to be happy playing EVE, a proper sandbox.

And my god its a horrible game. Dont worry if you havent played it.
Sure its nice if y ou havent played many games ever. But this is not what the game was hyped up to be.
The graphics are 10 years old (i have everything running at max)
Controlls are horrible and the skills are slow and clunky.
Really they should have tested the game more in beta and not rushed release.
They still havent even finished the translation.
The PVP is limited although its supposed to be a pvp game.
Its basically a mmo version of farmville with added pvp and character interaction.
Its really not worth the wait in the queues.
Trion have really failed with this launch also. I mean they knew how many potential players would be playing but yet they seem to just want people to leave by forcng them into queues for 90% of the day.
Ill stick with Darkfall which is actually a fully open pvp game with lovely graphics and a true sandbox. Not this Archeage sandpark semi pvp game.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
