They fixed the queue times... sorta

JaimlJaiml Member UncommonPosts: 130

Good news!  Not a single server on the US has a queue right now, time is 12 noon.

Bad news is you can't say logged on for more than 1 minute... I guess that is one way to fix the queues =)

Reading the official forums they are reporting about 45 seconds before you get kicked.

I tried 3 times and I am going to go do other stuff and check back later.

I like the game, I am a Patron, but this does feel more like Beta than a release  *sigh*

Hopefully they can fix it today...

Last night I was able to play the game for the first time.

Since launch I have come home from work, launched archeage, watched the queue drop slowly until I went to bed.  This has been the pattern all week.  Last night I was able to get on one of the new servers and I really enjoyed the game.  It is linear, but fun.  I also see a lot of potential.

I only got to level 9, so I certainly don't consider myself an expert on the game.  I did, however, see that I would enjoy paying for this game.  At least for awhile.  I almost signed up for patron status last night, but thought I better be able to play at least twice before I do.

This morning I have logged in, been kicked, and logged in again just to be kicked over and over.  I have played a lot of MMO's at launch.  I'm not going to use Hyperbole and exclaim that this is the worst I have ever seen.  Anarchy Online comes to mind as one of the worst (great game once it got running, though).  I will say this.  If I can't play I won't pay.  We are quickly approaching a week from launch.  Trion needs to smooth this out asap or they will lose a lot of potential revenue.

I think they are already losing said revenue. ATM, Metacritic user score is 3.6.

fixed what? Theres no queue because they just took the servers down and brought them back up. So you got in before everyone else, the queue's will be back, nothing is fixed. They did add a new server tho, so when you cant login to your server again you can try the new server. SMH

I should have been more clear.  My comments were said with sarcasm.

You can't actually tell if they fixed the queue because every one gets kicked after about 1 minute in game.  Technically that is a queue fix... the serves aren't full image  obviously not the fix we are all hoping for!

i think i said this once before but ..

why would you want to sit in a big ass Q ..thats like standing in the longest line at walmart when theres other lines with no wait

for people that just want to "test" or see what the game is like pick a lower Q server..odds are you may not even stay anyways..

also for people that dont understand the "land owning" game play its pretty much like thiS..

OVERPOPULATED SERVERS = LESS LAND TO OWN   and its not like the lower Q servers are not packed..its was elbow2elbow on Ezi server i pick last night i had no wait ,played till lvl 14 with no problems what so ever..but i may still wait another week cuz of the insane amount of ppl trying to fight over mobs for quest...it seems everyone is used to the "guildwar2" type of system  and not raid / grouping to completing your quests

Yeah it seems some changes went live today. The AFK timer used to be 45 minutes but it has been reduced. From the looks of it, the timer is now somewhere around 10-15 minutes. You can now get booted from either the character select screen or the character creation screen. I tested it out this morning and I got booted around the 15 minute mark. But there are some methods that are still not being picked up automatically and most likely can only be done manually.

Scapes did admit today that part of the daily (or almost daily) restarts is to flush out any AFK players that the system is not picking up: for example players that are auto-attacking the dummies ingame. Not a good Band-Aid, but I guess it is better than nothing.

No change on the queues.  I'm a patron, and #1772 in the queue.  Hoping I don't get disconnected again, but I'm not holding my breath.

No you can't. It's the equivalent of battle.net. You can't install anything from Blizzard without it now and same goes for Trion's Glyph.

Are the queues that bad across all NA servers ? I'm playing on EU servers (Melisara) and there is no queue for Patrons.

What's your issue with it? It's literally the same as battle.net from blizzard. It's less than 20 MB big, you can configure it to close when you open a game. It's not as if its a shitty low quality version like Aeriagames' Ignite that links to closed pages, makes you log in twice just to play a game, and is overall a shitty program/launcher.

The queue for NA is ridiculous I was able to play the game once so far.  Yesterday I got home from work at 3:30pm launched the game there was a 1700 queue.  I Thought not bad usually it is 3000+.  6 hours later it is still showing 700 in queue.  Anyways I joined an EU server and got right in game.

In the queue for about a half hour, and the "Gods" disconnected me again.  Awesome!

Lol @ metacritic user scores. The most useless piece of crap on the internet. The fact that there was a deliberate campaign to lower the score (and many of the 0 scores say as much) just highlights what an idiotic thing it is to pay any attention whatsoever to metacritic user scores.

Most people put in a 1 or 0 out of Q rage and the rest a 9 or 10 to counteract the 1s and 0s. Yes the Qs suck and are unacceptable but any reviewer with integrity will try to rate the game itself based on game play. At least, that's what I want to read about whenever I read something calling itself a review.

I'm surprised anyone injects metacritic user scores into any discussion about anything.

I'm gonna wait a few months for everything to die down, lots of people to move on and bugs fixed.  After being disappointed with launch after launch, my policy is not to play any new games until they have been out for 90 days.  I'll see you guys in game around Christmas time.

    It's initial launch-week.

    I personally don't have high-expectations.

Specially - Considering it's a non-instanced Sandbox MMO. First I've played, since SWG.

I have enough patience to wait out a week. I got my character names, so basically now I'm waiting for the restrictions to let-up, so I can play. It's going to be a good game. Just remember it's launch-week. Every die-hard MMORPG player are surrounding this MMO at the moment. Give it... Tuesday and you'll notice a significant drop in queue. A lot of people probably requested off to play this game.

That's pretty much the way to go.

I'm a bit different - I wait a week or two. But yeah.

You're definitely safe at that point.

    Eridanix reports from  EU:

Here the thing is becoming quite crazy and many people is clearly in despair. Qeues are longer than ever and many times when you are the fist in line then this magnificent server disconnects you. Such dirty strategy is making Europeans to start thinking diferently about Archeage that in this state cannot compete witth games that runs smoothly and you never have a problem loggind in. If they become a sidekick for us is because is practically impossible to get into the game.

That's reality and if the company don't want to see it, well, it's their bucks going down the toilet, not mine.

PD: if you don't have good professionals specialized in Server Architecture please, never enter the MMORPG biz, coz you are goiing to be in problems sooner than later.

PD2: as I have to go to workplace remember, usually common sense is the most powerful weapon in the worlld, so use it!

It is a question of fangs.

Aye I went ahead and installed it, kind of annoying when each company wants you to install their very own "platform" instead of letting you start the games the old fashion way.
