Pathfinder Online: Early Enrollment Alpha Delayed

Slated to begin later this week, Pathfinder Online Early Enrollment players will have to wait a bit longer for the commencement of the first alpha tests. The news was delivered via a short notice on the Pathfinder Online site earlier today.

There are a lot of final pieces coming into place to turn Pathfinder Online into a Minimum Viable Product so all of our early adopters can play and have a great time. The Auction House didn't make it in for a build last week and that is a critical feature of our MVP. As always, Goblinworks is dedicated to making sure the players have a solid and fun game experience

As a result we are going to reschedule the start of Early Enrollment.  The team is developing their roadmap and when we have a revised start date we will provide an updated blog to present that plan.

Isn't this the kickstarter MMO that is going to charge a monthly fee for alpha?  If so, how does this affect that?

They aren't charging the sub until early enrollment is launched (kind of like late alpha/early beta)  which is what was delayed here.

All you gamers that pay for early access and alpha games like this are ruining gaming for everyone else. Most of you don't even spend much time playing these games yet you are willing to pay for garbage like this and allow companies to think they can get away with it.

It seems like in both cases Devs/Players the early access path although far from perfect and very flawed is still a lot better on the balance sheet and on the game design/IP becoming playable in the hands of the games players?

I like the idea of Fantasy EVE albeit with updates on keeping things away from 100% free market capitalism on steroids or A Game Of Thrones political mmorpg drama.

PFO in it's current state may be far from these things but it still has got further than WOD/Titan and that must be an achievement in itself?

Sure others will attempt to imitate this and not so well but Brave New World.

The difference is that they are promising NOT to wipe your character once Early Enrollment starts.  So take the EVE comparison above, but give people a 12-18 month head start is you join now and pay a sub until the game get's to "Open Enrollment".
