Originally posted by thunderC Im currently considering quiting at this moment, From the toxic community to what i feel is a horrible korean mmo style grind not really my cup of tea, and although the graphics are decent when you really look at them there is just something lacking, almost dull about them. The ocean is gorgous though but that wears off very fast escpcially when you discover just how lifeless it is.Also the cash shop and Marketplace items will make you bankrupt, This game is HEAVY PAY 2 WIN you have been warned lol Just curious those of you who have already quit this game , why?
I still want to know WHERE the pay 2 win is ? Labor pots ? I never used a labor pot I am a patron and a founder and still have most of my credits becuase I cant find anything to buy with them . Please explain what is PAY 2 WIN in AA to me . Maybe your Market place is different than mine.
Graphics and animations are secondary for me. I only pay attention to these two features if rest of the game is below average.
However in case of AA. The biggest reason that made me quite was their so called 'F2P' model and the very toxic community. I don't mind OPEN world PVP MMOS and i am fully aware of kind of players it attracts but my GOD....AA is on whole new level. Never before i have been so physically repulsive to a game.

But you see..the main reason people say they " Quit" is because they say its P2W but where is it p2w I want someone to tell me what they bought that made them more powerful than me and IF they are more powerful than me I would like them to show me. I have never bought a LP I have a house a large farm and im working on a Galleon. I have over 400 gold I made without selling APEX. I am level 50 and one of the (IMO) best PVPers on my server . So I ask again what makes AA P2W ..
Because the game feels like a farming/trading sim. Not an MMO.
Ding u just won a million dollars.
(and u can all use them in the cash shop to buy some LP pots so u can farm and craft some more)
Exactly how i see it.
When u hit 50 u need to spend like 90000000000000000000000000000000 LP
And some 9000000000000000000000000 gold to actualy craft somthing u could use back when u where 44.
Ive been crafting at level 50 and never ran out of Labor or gold and I made money on what I crafted. Never used a Labor pot. Tell me again why you say this.
I jump on still everyone once in awhile, but there's 3 main reasons why it's not really going to be one of my main games to play.
1. The Community - The community in this game is very toxic. Much like all F2P games, people just have no care about what they say, who they curse out, or what their characters' actions do. Even with the "Justice" system, people will murder you and steal your stuff in a heartbeat. And part of the community (see no. 2) is way overpowered, and take full advantage of it.
2. The Business Model - I was planning on having a 3rd subscription since a long time ago (along with WoW and ESO). However it seems as though Patron players are just slapped in the face by the cash shop. Most companies that use a cash shop with the option of a subscription will allow the subscription to unlock everything except the cosmetic things in the cash shop. This model is perfectly fine with me. However, in ArcheAge they want your subscription, and for you to buy Labor Points, AND for you to buy Archeum, AAAAND for you to buy unlocks, AAAAAAAAND for you to buy cosmetic items. I thought Neverwinter was the most greedy F2P with $40 mounts and all that, but ArcheAge just surpassed them by a mile. You could easily end up spending $100 a month to get the full game.
This leads to those with the funds (and the stupidity) to become gods. There is already a guild on Salphira that pretty much rules the seas. If you try to do anything in the ocean, you're dead, no matter what you do, or how many people you bring. There's about 30 of them with about 6 boats and even a Galleon. If you run into them, you're dead, simple as that. This is because they spent thousands between them to buy materials and LP to craft their ships, and the best gear in the game. All of which (imho) should be equal to a normal subscription player, but it's not. If you just went subscription, you'll be at a disadvantage of 4 to 1 of that of someone who spends the maximum amount of labor points. If you're a free player, you're at a disadvantage of having no lands (only guild and friend's lands), and 8 to 1 labor points. I'm all for people who pay to have some advantage, but not this big of an advantage for that much money.
3. No Time - I could make time, but for the other two reasons, I just don't feel it's worth it. Between the two, there are better games to play.
I've hit 50 on a character, and found myself always running out of labor points. I just want to be a shipwright, but it just costs way too many materials and time (labor points). That is unless you buy them.
Just wanted to comment on those who play and are defending the game.
Shouldn't you be in-game...playing? I thought this was a thread for people who have already quit, but I guess even within 10 days of release, you find the need to defend your game while you could be enjoying the game. I mean there is so much to do, what are you doing wasting your time responding?
Anyways, I gave my founders pack account to my girlfriend an she is loving it. I guess it's cause she loves the whole guild needs to stick together idea. I left because it felt like runescape but on steroids. I swear they are identical to me except for the navy and graphics.
Woodcutting, mining, smithing, crafting, farming, fishing, construction, cooking and so on. Lots of work to do, chop chop, literally!
I want to kill stuff, not work after coming home from work.
*edit*
Loving the community already, from the people who quit and continue to play. Fun to watch.

I too have crafted, trade run and all that and without pots for LP it is easy to run out of LP in a few hours of crafting and gathering (I am a Patron also). So many I know find many ways to pot up and simi-cheat the system to get more LP. Many in the guild divide up professions and proficiencies to minimize LP use, but this only works well if you have a guild with regular players and lots of organization.

Can't play, I'm at work... Damn all this talk about AA is making me jones!!! Come on 5 pm!!!
The whole game feels very amateurish and cheap. It doesnt play like AAA title.
Technical:
1. Too much info accessible on client side makes the game too easy to hack (its coded too deeply and will never be fixed).
2. Theres no ability queue (lag compensation), makes the combat clunky, laggy and unfair
3. Very poor optimalization, I have 50 FPS solo, and 5 FPS in raid. Theres too much unnecessary 3D loaded and performance related options are not adjusted on fly: you have to change it manually to use same model for everyone - big lol
Gameplay:
1. Pay2Win - do I need to say more?
2. Imbalanced and completely broken PVP (no DRs on CC, one shotting of perma CC'd targets)
3. Weapon market killed by Hasla, PVP weapons made obsolete
4. Cheating, cheating, cheating... (people are teleporting trade-packs , or exploiting the way through the mountain, 30sec = 6g)
5. Everything gameplay wise is bad, generic and outdated
The only thing I like about this game is graphics and cat race, yep, thats it.
I was feeling this too. Its so pay2win. And the community is just rotten. But thats what you get in open world pvp based mmo's. And yeah the cat race was probably the best thing in the game. And waiting to kill mobs for quest is just stupid in any game.

So I ask again what makes AA P2W ..
lvl 50 so fast sounds like a worth while game,
I quit, I just cant devote this kind of time so I know I cant cant compete against these kinds of players and add the ques, and gold spammers and the all the BOTS to come, good luck all.
The P2W has been beaten to death, nothing about this is P2W .. everything on the Cash shop? you can get in game from jester packs and things of that sort. When Auroria opens, it will be even easier.
Don't say the mounts armor that increases move speed - because the items drop in the Greater versions of some of the instances.
Everything in this cash shop is cosmetic - and if not cosmetic - there is an equal version in game, that is not hard to receive.
You people crying P2W need to just leave, because honestly, this is not P2W .. you want P2W? go play Perfect World or Forsaken World .. now thats P2W....

Level 50 is fast because this is a PvP based game - and when they open the new island, then theres even more to do. This game isn't about PvE .. or questing .. it's pure PvP .. you PvE to PvP and you craft to PvP ... thats why they made leveling so simple. The game is really opened at 50.
They made levels for the only reason I can think .. so people will get use to the controls, mechanics, and skills ... so when you are 50, your ready to go.
I jump on still everyone once in awhile, but there's 3 main reasons why it's not really going to be one of my main games to play.
1. The Community - The community in this game is very toxic. Much like all F2P games,
The community was like this during alpha when almost everyone playing had to pay $150 to get in. The state of the community has nothing to do with being F2P. Like all games there are good and bad, but the bad here are really bad.

Sorry, it plays like just about every other themepark title as far as what I highlighted. Why not just start the game at 50? I mean, if it's a PvP based game just start out at max level and go for it.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
While i havent "quit" exactly, i almost never play simply because i cant. The queues are way too long, so if i try to logg in when i come home from school, i have to wait for 3-4+ hours to get in.
Really hope they give founders some extra days patron, because so far, this game was a waste of money.
They made levels for the only reason I can think .. so people will get use to the controls, mechanics, and skills ... so when you are 50, your ready to go.
I think people are ready to go a long time before they reach level 50 and so they go!
Hence this thread "for those of you who already QUIT the game ..."
The future of Archeage is all down hill, the tourists will leave, the carebears will leave. then the gankers and griefers will leave. Leaving a lonely desert with a few PvPers who, if they were actually hardcore PvP players, would never have dowloaded the game in the first place.
I haven't quit yet, but I'm seriously debating it. The problem with Archeage, in my opinion, is the penalties for ganking and greifing is not nearly strick enough. Open World PvP games need real-life style penalties for real-life actions. If you want to murder someone, go to jail for a long time (27 minutes doesn't cut it, I want to see life sentences), or go to the hanging simulator and then get put to the back of the non-patron queue for respawn. Or just perma-flag where you can't do anything, can't use NPC's, can't rest (because, you know, you're on the run), and anyone that see's you can kill you.
People keep saying that in sandbox's you need Open World PvP, but why? I do agree that there should be able to have the choice, but when every asshat in these games who is given the choice takes the route without any morals, it gets old very fast.
Too early for me to tell one way or another. There is a lot to do, that I haven't gotten to. I'm a slow player though which means it takes me a while to progress. So far, I'm enjoying it.
1) HOUSING - the housing abomination has left a sour taste in my mouth, especially as one of the reasons I went patron in the first place was the promise of having your own land. What pushed me to cancel was hearing that houses being demolished are being snapped up by the same people, who're not even in the same area. Which leads to point 2:
2) HACKING - from people transporting in their Trade Packs directly to the buyer, to guilds suddenly appearing from nowhere, to people managing to swipe demolished houses faster than anyone when not even present. This game has most hacking of any MMO I've ever experienced (in context, I've never seen ANY obvious hacking in other MMOs I've played; here it's everywhere).
3) COMMUNITY - some nice people here and there but for the most part horrible anti-social children and the dreadful free-to-play community
4) PvE - Leveling up is as dull as ditchwater
5) TRION - don't seem to give a shit about anything

Can I just say, I am waiting to try this game?
I just have some unfinished business in some other MMO's and don't want to jump into a new one just yet.
Pretty sure I will find some enjoyment with this game. Certainly not afraid of the first 30 levels anyway, more afraid of what comes after that.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
