Are you a patron? Because I just logged on and had a 10 person queue. I can see not being a patron would suck but yeah idk.

The game was released with about half as many servers as the Korean version.  And there are several mechanics that encourage players and bots to stay logged in.  So the queues aren't necessarily indicative of popularity or how much of a smash hit it is.

Yeah, even the new servers have filled up nicely, the demand for this game is pretty amazing.

I pay for patron though, because I like to support the things I enjoy, so I don't get queues.

No one logs off... hence the queue.  And yes, even Patrons stay logged on.

Remember, you're playing a game in which being in game is immensely rewarded versus not being in game.  Hence the reason why no one logs off.

If you rolled on of the original servers, it will always be much worse than the ones they added at and after launch.

And yes, the game is extremely popular right now because it is F2P and new to the west.

If we've learned one thing over the past decade (or so), it's that most MMO's provide a rather crappy gaming experience for the first month or so.

Between queues, bugs, gold spammers, emergency maintenance, over-crowded starting areas, etc,  I'm truly amazed that so many players still find head-starts / launches enticing.

Everywhere I go in this game, its packed with REAL ajd active players.  Don't know if it will stay that way, but to imply its not popular atm is wrong.

so for every 10 people paying, there are 5000 who don't?

i didn't love the game in beta but i would have given it a longer go if it was sub based, for lack of any decent newer mmorpgs.

Downloaded today; immediately logged on; made my first toon (what's with the effeminent male looks; I know it's an anime thing, but seriously); jumped right in (selected a server that was marked 'high' and not Q); played for about 1 hour, logged off. No issues, no long Q, no money spent.

From my perspective, if you want to try it out, you really shouldn't have much issue unless you're particular about which server you are on.

Yeah, because queues always = smash hit.

    Oh wait...no they don't.

The problem is, that in ArcheAge, merging servers is more difficult, due to the housing. In most other MMORPGs, that problem doesn't exist. As such, they want to avoid the problem of server merges by having not that many servers to begin with, which results in queues.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

Poor thing he was trying like what Simmons said "try and keep up with the acronyms" and you know how cool it is to throw all these acronyms about.

What is it with people who have no interest or inclination to play a game come on a thread they have no business being in since they have nothing to contribute save insults and make some sad comment. Are they so starved for attention that they must let random folk on a game know they are not in the least bit interested in a game. I am quite boggled.

I was thinking of getting patron status so they game has improved for patron log ins then ?  I am gonna wait till some land space also frees up when people default on mortgages and some farms become available. Definitely looking at this game .

WoW used to have long queues even three months after its launch so this can take a while. At least here once you are in you can play without lag and even if you disconnect there is a grace period. In WoW you would wait in a long queue and often once you got in the lag would be unbearable. Or you will get disconnected and would have to queue again. Fun times.

Bots, bots, bots. More bots than you can shake a stick at.

It's too early to tell anyway. Let's wait for the 3rd and 6th month to see what we have in our hands.

I can see this only as fault of company. What would you expect if you have CONFIRMED 500 invitations for wedding, yet you prepare event for 100?

Not to mention failures that are completely unacceptable in 2014, afk-ers, gold spammers, .... and zillion problems that plagued many games in past. Does really every company must ignore past experience of others and must learn all again and again hard mode on own skin? There are no excuses. I know for only 1 company that learned well after 1st disastrous release ... Wow. They never repeated same mistake.

Quite a lot of MMOS had queues during release. And a fair few of those were subscription only affairs.

IMO the fact that it is F2P is the only reason we are seeing queues that long, if any at all.

Nothing to do with the popularity.

People just find inventive ways to stay logged in 24/7, as it's the only way for a free player to gain Labor Points.
