What am I doing wrong?

Hey there!

Recently me and my boyfriend are playing ArcheAge. We started AA as any other generic MMO, with a healer type tank and a damage dealer, him being the tanky one protecting me while I do damage. The second step of going all generic is that we've followed every "!" and "?" and went overachieving every single one.

We already have 2 clippers for trade runs, we have 2 small farms luckily close to one another (the land cry is a bit overblown, there are many plots on Aier). We run 2 packs every day for ~18g each but that's the thing. We farm, we fish, we do traderuns last night we gained 50 honor points in Halcyonna (i think that was the name) but we are both lvl 34 and 37. So far the most "profitable" in terms of exp way of grind is through questing. And the questing really starts to feel like a choir but its the best bang for the buck.

Crafting is difficult in the way that it needs soooo much archeum dusts and iti can't really be farmed. We both have only tier 2 crafted armor with 1-2 tier 3 pieces and tier 4 is for lvl 35 and i don't see us getting T4 crafted armor anytime soon unless we spend hundreds of gold in auction house

Yes we're both patrons since day one. The people in this website keep saying that questing in AA is like shooting yourself in the foot and I tend to agree for the most part but how can one quickly level without doing quests?

The PvP is weird, there  many lvl 30s, but seeing level 50s chasing us for some quick kills just disgusts me. We mostly manage to get away but whats with attacking people that are 15+ levels below you in? Where's the honor in this. In this viewpoint, the honor points are not really honer, they are dickhead points. Because if you die an honorable death, you lose those points, which makes my mind explode but whatever.

Also I'd like to say that we were invited for the alpha but never managed to play it there so we don't know much about the game. People keep throwing some weird patch versions (1.0, 1.2, lvl 55 stuff like that) but we don't even try to understand those terms

So what do you vets suggest we do to boost our exp income? We already feel a bit falling behind and we've been putting insane hours into the game as of yet. Obviously we're doing something wrong, seeing how many lvl 50s there are hunting lowbies in war zones :)

We even managed to duo some lvl 50s with his paladin perma stunning them which is sad for them, but still

I do not think you are doing anything wrong, such is a PVP in a game with vertical progression.

The things will get slightly better at lvl 50 but then you will need to make more grinding....for gear. Hasla gear gives you like +30% stats so you might still be at disadvantage.

I would just focus on questing, it is the most viable and fstest way to get to 50. Then grind Hasla tokens...

I bet most "vets" will just tell you to join a guild... /facepalm

Mining, with a Vocation Tonic is a 3 levels in 45 minutes (plus your entire labor pool).

Then processing the ore and stone, sell it for a profit to buy Worker's Compensation and Vocation Tonic, rinse repeat.

As far as crafting goes... you aren't supposed to be blazing through it. Some people are, but it's designed to take you a long time to reach that point.

Anyways, it's not the best method, but a way to get some dust is farming Palace Celler up to the first 2 bosses. For some reason the final boss doesn't like to drop loot for a level 50, at least for me. But the first 2 always provide a peice of gear to break down and is very easy to get too. The add on mobs have pretty good chance of dropping rare armor as well for breaking down.

Split profession on alts / new accounts. Afk non-patron in courthouse (no offline generation). More lands ownership on alts. Consider making an alt pirate, but first needs to get to lvl 50s. Make sure some alt gets fish / alchemist (most profitable, in late game). More traderuns (I do typically 10 in one section of around 3-4hrs, typical afk pilot alt tab HS/LOL, route is mari - solz back and forth). Plant trees for a chance to get TS. Buy worker's compe. Join a big guild for cross continent for material / gilda.

OFC it's all my honest opinions. Your way seem perfectly fine too.

It's actually necessary for late game crafts as you need mats from continent trades, cuz you know, assholes.

We've joined a small pvp oriented guild, which is nice. All they do all day is causing mayhem and thievery but they are lvl 50s and we don't feel comfortable going with them, questing seems like a better waste of time until we hit 50 :/

We'll look into those pots tonight, thank you for the info

EDIT: Also how do we obtain larger farms? Is it a quest or something from mirage island? We can't find info about this, we do want larger farms

Large farm is the reward for your fourth trade pack quest, the one that requires you to go to the other continent.
