they have been playing the Revan card in some form or another since launch...
Revanites on DK quest line.
Revan as the end boss in one of the dungeons...don't recall which atm, etc
Unfortunatly if you have been playing a new story arc with Revan just seems old and tired at this point. I was hoping for some new direction....oh well.
It was in The Foundry.
I've been enjoying Revan's return so far. Forged Alliances made for a fun little storyline, though I probably would've enjoyed it even more if it hadn't all been flashpoints.

The Republic and the Empire fighting together against Revan, is pretty much a new direction. The new xpac also will be probably the beginning of a new story arc, Yavin 4 coud hide really a lot things for the future of the game.
Please explain why this would be a problem.

I used to write in favor of LotRO over TOR all the time, but in this I'm with you. Expansions are not part of the base game, it's understandable to charge for them. If you realy want to complain st3v3b0, it was much worse (ok, not that much, but still) when they slapped the Hutt Cartel in the sub for free, without any refund for those who've bought it earlier... greedy hutts.
Btw nice find Azaron. I think I'll pass on it, though. The statue would be nice, headstart is meh, Hutt I have already, but the xp... no way. At first I thought it's a typo, and they ment 1.2x (aka +20%), but nope... Seriously, who would play with 12x boost? For months, without a turn-off switch? Pointless...
(I know I used to speak against the less xp of preferred/free, but sub xp gain is fine. No need to boost it. Or at least add an xp-disabler like LotRO did.)
When will it ever sink in for some ....that "Free to Play" is only a vaguely descriptive marketing term? I mean.. I know there are babies born every day..so some people might not grasp the concept yet.
No matter how it's labeled..all MMOs need to make money so the player base still has the game to play.
So yes..the new expansion will actually cost money.
Surprise!
Hmm, iv'e been a Bounty Hunter since day one....that actually fills some holes for me, kudos!
the 12x xp is only for class stories (I think)
I'm not real exited about this. I mean, we must unite with the opposing faction to kill Revan ? Isn't star wars all about empire against republic ?
Also I'm fed up with Revan. We hear about him in the revanite quest on DK, in some planetquest on Nar shadah, and the 4 mid level FP's story all revolve around Revan. I've probably forgot a few quests with Revan related content. Now he's back.
The forged alliance story was nice and all, I just hate that it's Revan. It makes the story worse imo that it's Revan 2.0 we have to kill instead of a new emerging enemy. Also I fear that instead of a faction story we will get more story like the forged alliance where the quests for the most part is the same for both factions. It doesn't seem unlikely since "we need to unite to kill Revan"
Then there's the talent thing. Looks like swtor will pull a "wow" and remove talent trees. It might work, but it might also not work. I'm sceptical but i'll give it a chance.
Since it's star wars I want to give it a try, but i'm realy not feeling the hype like you should when a new "expansion" is launching. Given the previos content launches GSF and GSH I'm just worried this will at best be a mediocre expansion.
I can understand them charging for f2p players, but I'm surprised they're charging for subscribers.
As for the LOTRO comparison, it's true they charge for expansions, but you can buy all of them in game with Turbine points, which you not only earn in game by playing the game (technically meaning you do not have to pay a penny, but it'd be a serious grind), you also earn them by subscribing.
It's no different than any P2P expansion. At least that's how I see it.
Existing expansions in SWTOR are available free to subscribers though.

i wish they wouldn't desecrate the first two games lore with this dribble
Well as excited to hear about this expansion as I was and immediately thought about returning, I will not do so if your only options are to fight against Revan. Revan's storyline was the best one imo in KOTOR 1, 2, or SWTOR so why would I want to fight against it?
For a company that prides itself in their game's storyline and all the options available for players to take different sides to not have this 3rd option would be a huge mistake. I know at least half a dozen similarly minded player who won't return without a 3rd option as previously mentioned.

That is one hell of a weird reason not to play the new expansion. You make it sound as if you are still playing character of raven in SWTOR .
If SWTOR was a direct continuation of KOTOR 2 maybe i wouldn't think you are being overdramatic but that is not the case.
I've already pre-ordered /grin. 12x XP will work nicely for classes I am not too good at (Powertech and Operative) - these will get leveled first. Then I will take my sweet time to go through all quests on all other toons.
So I hope it's going to be one statue per character and hopefully the limit of how many of them I can have will be high With my 22 toons it would be a treat...
Love these pyramids rising above the jungle... feels like Mayan wrold. Looks really cool.....
Hmm... just read they are completely overhaul the Skill tree... got to get more info about it...

I had the exact same thought.
Revan being the major villain is understandable. It weird that he just in a couple mid level instances and not a big part of SWTORs story.
Hopefully I can at least have Dragon Age beat before this releases.
