Fake Panhandlers...

I remember my dad talking to us about how there was no way to determine if a panhandler was actually who they presented themselves to be although the image was very sad. He said that he suspected at least some of them were probably well off, and if after giving them money , if they turned around and left in a brand new car park around the corner that was on them. I remember that being a very strange concept to me, I had a very hard time believing that you would be out there on a median in the middle of traffic begging for money unless you really needed it.

I don't think even he realized how right he was, and this just blows my mind, but at least in Oklahoma city less than 20% of those panhandlers are legit, and you have to spend 200.00 on a license. That is hard to wrap my mind around. Even more so than his example of them going around a corner to a new car...
