My general rule of the thumb is not to rule a MMORPG out until it's seen two years of release / it's first expansion. This was pretty crappy on release, but I am seeing some very interesting updates lately, and only half a year or so post release. 1.5 years from now? Who is to say? Could be a good game by then.

Keep it up Zenimax.

1.5 years from now you or I could be dead mate. :)

As a rule I always say wait until after the reviews until you buy. Usually I don't buy a game until 2 months after the reviews are out. But when it comes to MMO's it is a never ending story, they are always getting better, at least until a change to cash shop or casino boxes corrupts gameplay. This even happens in a F2P, the cash shop starts out ok then ends up ruining the game.

But how long do you wait to come back to a MMO if you were not keen on it at launch? I would say that depends on you, but here my rule of thumb. The shorter the length of time you stayed, the longer you should take before you come back.

Its a good game now and getting better all the time. I have no illusions, that could change, they could decide to bring in a cash shop or totally cater to easymode at any time. Meanwhile I play the game, enjoy it and if it goes south I will be looking for a new MMO.
