Is this so hard to answer?
let me ask few more specific questions
- how is bosscamping in open world dungeons?
- how hard is it to keep your party in yhe same instance of a zone?
- how hard is it to find groups?
- are there still so many bugs?
- how competitive is a VR3 in PvP?
-how busy are lower level zones?
- how busy are the VR zones?
- has the guildsystem become more usefull?
- is there a more usefull auction system these days?

Lots of changes coming in 1.5, sounds like you should wait or pass on the game all together.
From a technical point of view the game is very solid. If you're questing to level up you will rarely encounter a glitched quest (although there never were that many to begin with.) They plugged the exploits and banished the bots, and the delves are gradually being expanded.
Veteran content is much easier than it was at launch (a concession to the casuals); 1-50 is the same, and the dungeons (including the vet dungeons) are still challenging and fun. Low level zones are extremely active. There are now public guld traders, so you can buy from many guilds by traveling around. I really like it far better than a sterile global auction house. The various guilds that I'm in seem quite stable and solid.
Gear sets are now more versatile; the PvP campaigns have been shortened; and a lot of endgame PvE focuses on Craglorn (and acheivement hunting). As in every other MMO they are working on balancing abilities - I certainly enjoy the three classes that I play (nightblade, dragonknight, sorceror.) You can dye your gear now.
There also appear to be a lot of solid changes and interesting ideas for the future. I think it's a great game now and would recommend it.
Also, probably the biggest thing they added is the dye system and improved achievement system that works with it. There are a lot more achievements in the game now and many of them are tied to different dye colors that unlock when you complete them. The dye system is pretty nicely done and the achievements are a pretty fun way to unlock the colors. I have been enjoying that quite a bit and have even been working on the fishing achievements (as painful as they are). Overall I think the game is in a pretty good place and if they follow through with most of their stated plans the future is looking great.
Same answer as I just posted in Gdekks's thread.
The game is technically much more solid now than at release. Bots and spammers are pretty much gone. Game runs for me more smoothly. Bugs have drastically been reduced. Dye system is awesome. Dungeons continue to expand. More and more small features and options added (example wider field of view in first person).
HOWEVER, even as a huge supporter of the game my vet 1 remains parked there until they revamp the veteran zones and implement the champion and justice system. That along with the grouping improvements, grouping tool, chat bubbles, etc that are on the way means that the game is only a couple of updates away from being quite the themepark beast that many were hoping for at release. So if you want to jump in knowing that this is all on the way, nothing is stopping you as the game has improved quite a bit. If you want what so many wanted at release, then wait just a bit longer for a couple of major updates that look awesome.
There Is Always Hope!
resubbed today, and started a new character, leaving my vet 3 main parked...
storries are still there
world feels robust
But i also noticed things not yet improved yet, like the behind the shoulder 3rd person view, stays awkward, will never get used to that
