Farmville in 3D?

HrimnirHrimnir Member RarePosts: 2,415

Ok, i legitimately am asking this. I'm not trying to troll.

But, i watched some videos, ive read a lot of these threads.  To me, this game basically looks like Farmville, with a decent graphics engine, and add in PVP.

The kicker is really that you have the crafting points or whatever they're called that build up slowly over time, that you then use to craft, or do other stuff.  You can also buy said points to avoid the slow build up for real money.

Seriously, how is that not farmville?

You have left out mention of the massive, insane RNG crafting grind to get decent gear for PvP.

Personally, I am finding that the "fun" button is the little cog on the lower right hand side, it brings up a pick list, select "close game" for best results. Enjoy!

Play the game and see for your self. It's free to play.

But I suspect you are just trolling and not interested in an actual answer.

The free play will not get you the full farmville effect, you need land for that, which means patron, which requires grinding for Apex, or paying for the game. Oh, and most of the land is taken, good luck finding a server with a place to put a 16x16 farm. You can find a spot for a temporary 8x8, and many 8x8's are coming up for demolition, if the hackers don't get them before you do. Maybe try the hax if you really want land bad.

The game does have its delights. There are many kinds of instruments, and players are able to make up their own tunes, which is a pretty cool feature. You can get a ship, a "clipper", pretty easy, and you can put your own design on it. If you can get a house, which is a major issue, you can decorate it to no end, with custom flags, chalkboards, bear skin rugs, all manner of dodads, it's very neat. There are a decent number of emotes, including three kinds of dance. There are party lights, and you can get a music jukebox player, and carry it on your back. The game supports dueling, and there are lots of people in the cities looking for duels, and just running all about. There are treasures you can dive for on the bottom of the ocean, if you can get past the seabugs, and the pirate players looking to gank you. The death penalty is a joke, so gank away, it's all for the lulz.

The class system is where AA truly shines, you can choose 3 classes, and then you have to spec out which powers you want. OFC there are nearly useless combos, and several FOTMs. Leveling is easy, and everything you do gives XP.

Yes, the cash shop has p2w items, faster mount, gear to make your faster mount faster, RNG mystery boxes, labor potions you can sell for gold. Or, you could just get gold by playing, and buy the labor pots you need to craft.

AA is the best game out there right now, way better than ESO, and reportedly much better than Wildstar. Go ahead, give it a try, the f2p means you can check it out and see if it's for you.

Personally, I just want to make lvl 50, sell my farm to a guildie and go to sea; no pressure to maintain the land, no timers to check up on, just stuff to do and people to gank.

It's pretty much FarmVille with pvp thrown in. However the RNG in this game gor high end crafting items makes old school games look like they're handing you out items . The RNG and the required grind are way heavier than what you would have found in vanilla wow or EQ. This is why on quite a few forums people moan about RNGesus :D

If you see the game as a Farmville based on what you read around i cant do nothing about it, seems your opinion is allready made it.

We can have a farm and then plant and collect crops so that makes Farmville

We can collect plants and kill animals in wild so that makes FarCry3

We can pvp inside arenas so that makes LoL

We can sail on sea so that makes <any sailing game>

We can build houses so that makes SimCity

We can do instance dugeons in group so that makes <any crowler dugeon game>

We can build a family so that makes Sims

    ...

I think you get the point, its the way each one see it and refuse to look to the whole picture.

Insted of running around in territorys farming stuff from the ground like most of other mmos game provide tools so players can plant and collect what they need, i see it this way.
