Everyday I come on this site and read the forums, hoping to see intellectual conversations about MMORPGs. The vast majority of the time the posts are nothing more than people just bitching about the genre or a certain game, Do people really have nothing better to do than talk trash on a forum? I realize anonymity give people a feeling of security to spew nonsense, but do I can't understand why so many feel it necessary to do this. I am currently playing Archeage and the amount of people taking time out of their day to trash this game amazes me. I have been gaming for over 20 years and have played many games I didn't like, and very few were worthy of a public comment. People need to stop all the negativity and do something productive, or atleast entertaining and stop wasting time trash talking a game they don't even play.

So why are you coming on here bitching? You should be spending your time doing something else instead of posting on a forum about people bitching about a game.
Kinda hypocritical arn't you?
Thank you for proving my point. People love to feel like they "won".

Complainer complaining about complainers

There is usually gonna be more haters trolling here than fans because the fans are playing games and not posting as much. Haters don't normally want intellectual conversations. They just can't spare the bandwidth, they are too busy hating to think and communicate in an intellectual manor.
rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar
Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D
I think the reasons behind a lot of the negativity are twofold. Firstly, anyone happy with a game is busy playing it. Secondly, people who are unhappy or disappointed with a game sometimes need to vent their frustrations, and forums are the logical place to do it.
If you really want to avoid negativity about your game, don't read forums. They're not gonna change any time soon. Occasionally you will get your intelligent conversation but for the most part, it's always gonna be people bitching. Then again you should be able to just ignore most of it. People have opinions and they like to talk shit. Just ignore it like you would any other annoying person you meet.
Oh he didn't "win". He just showed that he is capable of displaying ignorance. A negative point is not bitching if it is a valid point and yours is valid.
I don't post much, but when I do, it's usually obnoxious. Bill can confirm that. Though I don't mean to be obnoxious. Whatever I'm saying sounded completely different in my head .
Why do you feel the need to complain about the complaining?
I would assume that you take the negativity well, negatively and as such you would rather not see it. This however is not a productive view to hold, and the people complaining about something in a game is valid mmo discussion where your topic is less so.
Personally I feel burned by the industry, I don't want to hate on what other people enjoy if I can avoid it but at the same time I feel the need to at least speak on behalf of my preferences. I don't go around randomly mocking things in pointless places however, if that is more the type of thing you dislike.
In the end I think its pretty simple to see that people talk about things they are passionate about.
I found a place for you "intellectuals" to have an "intelligent" conversation.
