Is there any loot in this game?

So I have got to about level 42, and the only things that monsters drop are herbs, the occasional potion, the very rare monster lore, and very small amounts of cash. Don't they ever drop gear or anything else interesting? I don't mind grinding, but I expect a bit more reward for it.

One other question: my inventory is cluttered with odds and ends that I seem to be unable to drop and no merchant will buy. How do i get rid of this junk?

This game died a long time ago, and the only damage control L2 developers can do now is making the game 100% pay to win. They killed the drops in order to force people to open their wallets to gear up their characters.

Lineage 2 was never, ever, heavy on drops.

In the early days I could go months without a drop. And when I got a drop it would be some C grade or B grade item. I think I once got an A grade items.

so having said that, I don't know how much they could have killed drops when they weren't really prevalent to begin with.

@OP: I know the game is a bit different now from when I played but back then you either raided higher with your clan to get gear, you could get the same gear by crafting it (which was a huge undertaking which is why most people gathered mats and then went to viable, trustworthy, crafters) or you could buy it from people.

This is not a "let's farm an area and gear up game".

drops now are 1%-5% they used to be in the past, just see an old database  and compare, mobs that gave 4K adena in the past now give 100 adena.

That's a very foolish policy. If I stick with a F2P game and enjoy it, I don't mind buying some stuff. But if I'm just put off it by the meanness of the rewards, I'll go off and play something else. They lose a potential customer.
