I have to say that it does appear to be good value for money. I have just bought the SWG: Total Experience pack so i won't be taking up the all access pass until i see if i want to keep playing SWG as well as EQ2. If i do like SWG i'll probably end up buying Planetside as well, because i'll be buying an all area access pass and i might as well get access to all the games.
I know that SOE isn't for everyone, and neither are their games. However for the people who do like their games this presents itself as a good way of saving money.
you forgot planetside...

Don't forget it also give you access to the wonderful world of EQOA.
Yup it's actually 5 major games:
EQ1
EQ2
EQ Online Adventures
Star Wars Galaxies
PlanetSide
And it's an incredible value even if you only like 2 of the 5 games.
Personally I love Star Wars Galaxies and Planetside. I still play EQ occassionaly to spend time with my brother online (he still loves the game and plays all the time) since we live so far apart it's a great way to hang out, chat and have a little fun together. And, of course, I occasionally hop on EQ2 just because I can.
I basically got the SOE pass for SWG and PlanetSide but the EQ one is nice so my brother and I can hang and EQ2 is a nice bonus if the servers are down or my outfit isn't online in PS

Actually I thought it was eq1 OR eqoa, but not both. Was I mistaken?

You may be right. I don't play EQOA so I never paid much attention.
I suppose we could go look it up It's on the SOE website LOL. I'm just too darn lazy to bother.

This is the wave of the future. This is why you are seeing publishing companies put heavy investment in multiple development houses with multiple titles across diverse genres. This is how they will extract more revenues from players who might normally only pay for one title but might be inclined to pay for more than one if the aggregate price point was attractive. This is why you see these same publishers consolidating their account management into a single interface.
To a large extent this is a way of masquerading a poorly-selling title as a success...because the current method of accounting for players is how many active subscriptions a game has. An "all access" account such as SOE's can easily proclaim that their entire userbase of such accounts can be attributed to each of these games. It's a marketing tactic, to be sure...and manipulative. But that's what marketing is.
This is smart asset management for any publisher, really. Why only collect $15 a month when you can collect $25? There is no reason to restrict access to other titles in the collection if the consumer is willing to pay the premium...the consumer would likely not be playing and paying for the games anyway, and the corporation nets a hefty 50% increase in revenue in the meanwhile.
Expect to see NCSoft and Turbine to come into the fold soon. I'm surprised they haven't already, but I suspect they're waiting to see what kind of reception the program receives from the pubic. Other publishers may also follow suit, though not many of them have heavy emphasis on current and future MMOG releases.
Bottom line:
If you like and plan to play 2 or more of SOE's titles the pass is a must buy because it will save you money.
Anyone who states that this isn't an awesome deal for the player is just being a hater. It's a win-win. The company nets more revenue because, odds are, few people will pay for 2 subscriptions and the player gets access to more than 1 title that they enjoy at a discounted rate.
The company also expends less assets tracking multiple billing cycles and multiple subscription plans for the same person.
It's a win-win

I wonder the same thing. If Auto Assault turns out to be halfway decent I would very likely get their own version of an "all access pass" to enjoy CoH and AA.
Also you get more character slots on EQ2 and adventure packs without charge on access
But it's a rip off unless u play em all
In other words, they are not that desperate yet.

I see the all access pass as a way to retain customers and sell expansions more than anything. It is quite realistic to think that an all access subscriber will buy every expansion that comes out for EQ, EQ II, and SWG.
I recently started an all access account, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. This sort of deal makes a ton of sense for any company that runs multiple MMORPGs. It sells more software if nothing else. God knows I never would have looked twice at Planetside, but now I'm actually considering it.
I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

You don't get the software for free, you still have to pay for it. Sorry if I was unlcear

21 dollars a months for 3 games?
Hell if i had a decent computer id totatly get that.
I dont even like SoE that much but damn thats just to good to pass up.
Actually, all their games.
Planetside
SWG
EQ
EQ2
EQOA
As long as you have the software to run it you can tie them all to your Sony Station account's all access pass.
In other words, they are not that desperate yet.
NCsoft sold me Lineage2, a horribly loathesome game; therefore NCsoft wont ever get a nickel from me again. NCsoft can lick my baggage
Edit: Unless they make a Doom MMOFPS. I dont care if Satan herself makes it, Id play it. Hmmm Doom MMOFPS made by Satan herself...gimme!

The situation of Lineage 2 is a bit controversial.
Although is the worst game I played in my entire life, it is undeniable that is an extremely succesful games in terms of subscriptions.
It counts at least 1 million subscribers worldwide, and it is only second to ....................errhhh........Lineage 1
So watching this figures, it is quite easy to understand why NCSoft doesn't bother to create an all access pack for its games.
Actually last month Lineage II passed I in subscribers according to Sir Bruce's site.
Doesn't matter, they're both awful games. 90% of the subscribers are asian by the way, a market wholly untapped by the other MMO's out there (does WOW have servers in ASIA yet? I think it probably does but not sure... if it does that would explain part of it's huge numbers).
Anyway, the SOE All Access Pass does not require that you play all the games, it gives you the ability to play all of them.
You don't just get the big 5 though you also get access to their other stuff like Tanarus, Infantry, etc. Which are pretty fun in and of themselves and you can download those for free.
And if you play EQ2 all of the expansions are free (so far) with the All Access Pass.

These are not expansions mate, they are just random generated dungeons called adventure pack.
The expansion will be out in September and it won't be free
