LF a free2play crafting/open world/survival game

KasseopeaKasseopea Member UncommonPosts: 28

Welp, looking for something like DayZ or Rust but for free. (Please dont go "uhh, you could support dem developers" - i literally dont have the cash for that.)

The game should have survival elements (hunger, thirst), crafting and open pvp. Zombies would be nice too.

Played "Unturned" today, but tbh it seems to be an extremely cheap made game with little to no real play value. Im not that much of a graphic whore, but even Minecraft looks better by now.

Other than that it had some major sound bugs causing the weapons to be time louder than everything else, deafening when fired. Yeah, i get that it is realistic, i would still love to keep my eardrums. Also the servers were most difficult to find and there was 0 building, at least from what ive seen so far.

    I googled "free survival MMO" for you, didn't get many results...but heres what I turned up;

    Dead Frontier

    Xsyon (free trial)

    H1Z1

    Mortal Online

I doubt you're going to find such an advanced game as a F2P title.

You could pray that SOE will go with a F2P model for H1Z1, but I doubt it, since I think the company vastly prefers box + sub models for their new games.

Other than that, I recommend saving up and getting 7 Days to Die. It has all the features you're looking for, and only requires a one time purchase. Well worth it IMO though.

Edit: I just looked up H1Z1, and judging by their page I believe it's not going to be F2P indeed.

Scroll down to the section about "early access" where they are already talking about purchasing the game.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

i havent seen a F2P mmo with those requirements. As for Unturned, yeah it felt cheap, but that game was made by a random 17 year old dude as a hobby, not even an indie dev. Maybe it will get better since he already did the hardest part (making a game and get it working).

H1Z1 is going to be f2p when it is fully released only getting into early access will cost money a quick google search would of told you that.

I really hope it is not F2P because the cash shop will easily ruin a survival game. DayZ set the best model for that type of game. One purchase, and you can run your own servers or play on dedicated servers. Ive said it before and ill say it again, a cash shop would kill the purpose of "surviving" in a zombie apocalypse game if you can just buy stuff with real money. IF they want to sell DLC or expansions thats fine, but no cash shop.

They have already said they will only be selling cosmetics, emotes, character slots and other stuff like that stuff that can impact the game like  food, weapons and ammo will not be sold.

Sorry for abandonning the thead for a while, had forgot to check my "threads" folder in firefox. H1Z1 looks very promising indeed. Xsyon - looks strange but going to take a look at it.
