Silkroad Online?

jackieshanejackieshane Member UncommonPosts: 2

Hi Guys

Reading a few of the stickies.. I feel I am no closer to my answer unfortunately so I am looking to you guys to provide me with a helping hand.

Many years ago (8/9 Years), I dipped my toes into MMORPG's... I stumbled across Silkroad Online and loved it. For me, it had a great mix of PVE/PVP .. team work/solo .. the trader/thief system, seemed a good (for me) grinding time, not too long, not too short, to level up, all good fun and lost a couple of years of my life due to it. However, circumstances changed and I had to quit playing and lacked time to play any games at all.

Now-a-days, I find myself with a few hours a day spare to which I would like to play an MMORPG.. what, if any are similar (Art style doesn't matter, it is the gameplay I am focusing on) to what Silk road was like back in the day of it first coming out? Or are their any coming out in the near future? Sandbox/Themepark means nothing to me so I can't even figure out what type of game silk road was... free to play or pay to play is fine for me, open to anything to be honest.

Thanks in advance.

You should try Guild Wars 2, I started a week ago and have been playing it like crazy - really good game.

Also it's on sale at the moment for 19.99 usd. I too played Silk Road back in the days :)

Silkroad Online was a game that tried to be like Lineage II cause of the great impact Lineage II had and the millions of people playing as subs or in pirate servers.

Even though I don't like nor play Archeage I hear that many Lineage II fans love Archeage and I say give Archeage a try it's free to play anyway.

edit: also Lineage II is free to play too now days.

I also played silk road back in the days, lots of fun thiefing people up on trade runs.

check out archeage, its free so its worth checking out right?  they have a trade run type thing in the game that people do to make money.

I played a ton of SRo and i liked it but not if playing too much just good  for a few weeks then take a break.

Sadly the game was ruined by bots then when SRO got rid of the bots they also changed the game to a point it is no longer as good, therefor nobody plays it.

There is no other game like it ,that i know of,all games are a mix of either PVE questing or PVP or end game grinding.

I would not even attempt to play SRO anymore because last i checked there were several fake sites pretending to be SRO ,risking giving up personal identification.

All I remember about SRO is that it's heavily patrolled by multiple federal agencies due to Drugs, Terrorism, and other shady business.  More power to you if it's your cup of tea.

Yep it was shutdown because of drugs.

Lol. Silkroad Online, the game, has nothing to do with the Silk Road online black market.
