Looking for a game just to compete with other players. I love WoW but I can't just PVP, I end up competing with achievements and PVE, DPS, Healing, mounts it just never ends and takes up too much time. I love FPS'ers on Xbox but I can't afford the new Xbox One.
I'm not too worried about having to pay a monthly fee or one time charge but I would have to be able to demo the game first. I have an average computer.
Games I have played: WoW, LotR, Allods, Rift, Tera, DC Universe, Kotor Online, Fiesta Online, and RF Online.
I can't stand strategy, I am not even a big fan of objective based in things like all BGs in WoW and capture the flag/bases in Halo but I like the combat in those. Also I am not bored so I don't care for PVE or any extras, I just want to get on and battle people.
Thanks!

You might want to give Planetside 2 a try. It's a open world combined arms (infantry, armor, air) FPS. The maps are huge and you decide how and where you want to fight. The only thing that doesn't meet your list is that there are bases with capture points, but not everyone fighting is required to sit on the point. In fact if you're in a vehicle you will not take a point at all. If you just want to run around shooting the enemy, you can do that. There is no capture the flag.
It's a fun game but the flow of battle is a bit different than other shooters and may take a bit to get used to it. And flying does take some practice, best to start out on the ground. Battles can be small skirmishes 24 v 24 or huge 100+ v 100+, and can change just that quickly. And you will die a lot, that's just how the game works. It is free to play so no risk in giving it a try.
Dragon Nest relies too heavily on real money to be competitive, but combat is fun.
Thank you everyone for the replies, downloading planetside 2 now.
How does Dragon Nest rely on money to be competitive? I thought almost all F2P games you could achieve the same gear and level it just takes longer without money.
Yes that is what they mean, although the "takes longer" part can also effectively mean impossible without spending a lot of real money.
However, when I played DN during its beta the pvp rooms were gear equalized, as long as you were the right level it didn't seem to matter what gear you had which was really cool. Not sure if that is still the case. It was actually a really fun game (back then) the first part of the story was surprisingly good.
