My Constellation is a great ship, but the multi-crew ship class is as nimble as a pregnant cow. So I like these news:
"Test driving the M50 "
"For the next week, we’re unlocking the Origin M50 for all backers to test! The M50 is a fast, nimble interceptor that’s also great for star racing. We hope you enjoy this opportunity to try out one of Star Citizen’s faster, more focused ship designs."
Have fun

Update:
The second starter ship called "Mustang" has two dedicated racing versions with an extra engine.
The "normal" racer variant is the Mustang Gamma version.
There is also a promo version of the Mustang Gamma called Mustang Omega - seems like you can get this red-and-black version when you buy a grafic card from a well known hardware manufacturer.
Have fun
The German gaming magazine GameStar has a series of articles and videos about Star Citizen. One of them is about racing. Nice to look at and some useful tips (No pilot black-outs or red-outs in the "Behind Ship" camera position - that allows you some nice maneuvers pulling lotsa g's - okay, that is one for the bug/cheat-hunter section of the SC forums ;-)

Commentary is in German, but not critically needed for watching the video.
Other videos are about dogfighting, capture-the-flag (errmm -core) mode and multi-player ships, mostly pre-Alpha level gameplay footage, with some scenes from demo videos in between.
They use a press-account, so the (asteroid) hangar is quite big and has lotsa different ships and some nice flair items in it.
The journalist praises various parts of the current Star Citizen build, but also talks about the most common points of criticism (namely expensive pledge packages, pre-Alpha bugs and the long development cycle with some milestones being later than expected). In summary he expects Star Citizen to be a very good game when its finished, but it still needs a lot of work.
Hope to see some of you on the race-track.
Have fun
