What?!
Hearthstone made almost a half billion in revenue in less than 6 months. And Hearthstone was made by 15 people.
Not enough LOLs in the world for something as absurd as "Hearthstone seems to be doing 'OK'"
Blizzard had already said they have no plans for more MMOs. Seriously, why make an MMO when you can get huge revenues from games with small budgets and small development teams?
And continue to milk World of Warcraft for as many expansions as it has left.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
Valve stole DOTA from them, now they want to steal TF2 from Valve....makes perfect sense.
It would be a lot better if the game would be SKILLS-focus like a MOBA, rather than just a shooter with a few abilities (TF2, or heck PvZ:Garden Warfare).
This looks incredible! Second, as an avid pvp'er ( I do love pve too!!!!) this looks soooo fun and interestingly balanced, although saying that I have no idea how any of it works. But, I do hope that a storyline could be forged and could go alongside a Co-op in some way! I mean Destiny didn't try that hard and the game itself is really enjoyable to me and I look forward to the "expansion" hitting soon. Destiny's Co-op isn't anything near what it could be and I just know that Blizzard could Dominate with a full robust game like this one with everything in it! I'll be watching this one
It's kind of sad that they would scrap Titan for this. It's not surprising though, since WoW is bleeding subs as time goes on, as well the MMO genre as a whole. Overwatch looks like a TF2 FPS lobby game.

i think they actually test out if that IP is accepted by their fans atm.
starting a mmo is abit cost heavier than starting a fps game
(and yes i know titan was in development for like 7 years already, not talking about dev costs here tho)
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
I've heard people attack the art as childish, but I think the art looks very nice and crisp and some of the classes look interesting to me. I also liked the cinematic from the site and it did a good job of getting me interested, particularly after the extreme disappointment I got out of WoWWoD.
Now if they can keep the typical trashtalk of pvp'ers out of the game it may do well, but if it's just a repeat of trash talk/'swag'/bravado 101, then I'll pass and I'm pretty sure I won't be alone in that regard.

Their revenue was up less than 100 million, "much" of that 100 million attributed to Hearthstone. Note "much". Not half, not more than half, not the majority, not most. Likely something in the range of 30 to 40%, meaning somewhere in the ballpark of 40 million dollars if you are being liberal in the interpretation. Wow, from 40 mil, to 500 mil. Quite a jump there. Not enough LOLs indeed.
Looks like Blizzard are moving away from well-thought out games requiring significant development and creating longevity, to the short route to something simple that's been done a million times before. They really must be relying on people to buy it because of their brand.
No doubt that anyone who buys it will get a Gucci new mount for their Warcraft character. #cynic
I'm more interested in Gigantic and Battleborn. I like the way the view switches from first person to third person on some of the moves. The burden of knowledge for this game is going to be insane, though. As long as I don't have to put any $$$ down to try the game, I probably will.

I agree on Gigantic. Battleborn's artstyle, on the other hand, makes it look like a rancid turd.
Not to say that Overwatch has a great artstyle. It's too incoherent. You have great looking characters like Hanzo and Tracer, and then you shove a damned gorilla into a suit, give it a gun, and call it a character. This flew in Super Monday Night Combat because it was supposed to be stupid. Here... it's just plain immersion breaking.
So instead of the game that would automatically become huge, namely World of Starcraft, they do this?
Makes no sense to me... World of Starcraft would get millions of subs instantly when it is released, just by it's name.
Wtf is Overwatch?
Why do you think it would be an instant hit? I am not really interested in playing a SC MMO, I love it as an RTS but realistically I do not see an MMO version being all that fun. Besides, I play WoW so if it was to come out, then I would either continue to play WoW or WoS not both at the same time. I imagine a good few are the same, so, why invest in a product that competes against your existing product?
i admire your passion for the game, Kerrigan and Raynor are interesting characters for sure as are many of the other attributes that make up the SC franchise but it would not be profitable to the company.
Blizzard has not had a new IP in gods-knows-when and its nice to see them branching out from their big three games. I like the FPS genre and as long as there is a form of progression to be had in this FPS other than just match after match I am very keen for it.
I cant really say I didnt see this coming. Blizzard has a knack for copying other games, making a couple small tweaks and marketing it as "original".
They pretty much are trying to break into every genre, and some will work, some wont. Hearthstone seems to be doing "ok", but certainly isnt controlling the TCG market, Heroes of the Storm may do well, but wont put a dent into LoL or the MOBA market. This will grab some from Team Fortress 2 or Unreal Tournament, but definitely wont replace them.
Good for Blizzard for trying new things, and wanting to get a piece of every genres market, but those genres have their "WoW" games already. They arent going to dominate any other genre like they have done with WoW. But its fun to watch them try.
Hearthstone isn't controlling the TGC market? It's consistently top 3-4 games on twitch, has a massive YouTube following, and has only just begun. Those of you who kept your Magic cards from 1990 should probably accept the change, it was a good run.
Heroes of the Storm just had it's first big tournament (at Blizzcon, so potentially biased) with an entire army of sponsored eSports teams. C9, coast, curse, the list goes on.... and the game is in ALPHA.
"This game will grab some from TF2 and Unreal Tournament, but won't replace them" -- That's probably because they've already been replaced, in the realm of games they are "vintage" (see also: old as ****)
I hate to sound like a blizzard fanboy, because I'm absolutely not. Never played diablo or starcraft, WoW has lost it's appeal for me, but you've got to admit.
These guys do online gaming, and they do it VERY well.

Typical MMORPG crybabies.
1. Accusing other people of being mindless drones because they like something different - check
2. Being annoying elitists - check.
3. Insulting Blizzard's fanbase as kiddies - check.
4. Making the elitist arena/lobby based game remark- Uultra check!
Some new progress:
1. This is not an MMO, what the hel? Why are people making games in other genres?!
Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
