I agree it is one of 3 ( maybe 5 ) titles I will be keeping tarck of and trying once they come out.
Currently playing WoW, EQ2, AO, and GW's but waiting and watching for D&D Online, Dark and Light, and Heroes Journey. The other 2 I have some interest in but not as much as the above mentioned 3 are LoTR Online and Pirates of the Burning Sea.
In the next couple years there will be a vast number of titles to choose from, too many to pay and play at the same time so hopefully the developers will take notice and start pushing out more polished and tested products which in turn will hopefully weed out the companies who think they can get their last 2 months of beta done by paying customers instead of giving us a finished product from the start.
I humbly disagree. D and L is a step above vaporware.
Development is snail slow. E3 reports were generally very bad or non-existant. Beta still has only 2-3000 people. Character models are awful. very little has been put into the game. Little info has been released in regards to mechanics. Classes have not been released. While this game is schedulded for late this year. No way will it be out before 2006. Most likely 2007 if the game survives long enough for a release. Sadly D and L has complete failure written all over it.
Then again, Zippy, your a mourning fanboy. How about you go look at the crap that is your game that still can't quite decide whether it is in deveolpment or a real game. Those that live in a glass house shouldn't throw stones.

Bitey I am not a Mourning fanboy. I have nothing but contempt for Mourning. Any game, including Dark and Light, and I would imagine even Darkfall, is greatly superior to Mourning. The complete lack of proffessionalim by the Mourning Devs gives one insight into why thier game turned out so bad.
Mourning even though it is released is vaporware. It has 10 people playing on its one server. Mourning may be the prototype of incompetence. I don't think it has any fanboys. I have been saying for years that Mourning is going to be an awful game.
I love the ideas of Dark and Light. I like some of Mournings but D and L's have much more substance. But unfortunately D and L appears to be headed to a bad fate. My only hope is they can stay afloat long enough financially to release it with most of its features. But with D and L's lack of development that could take years.
I am not sure why you have to personally attack me by calling me a Mourning Fan Boy. I was just offering you all a differnt point of view. One that I believe is much more releastic.
We would all love to see D and L finished this year and be a playable fun game. I have been following d and l for over 3 years now and I have come to the conclusion its just not gonna happen.
And what exactly are your reasons that DnL will fail, Zippy? It has 2-3000 beta testers because its a closed beta....If you are in the closed beta then maybe you have some grounds to say that very little is in game, but if your not then whats your proof?
I am not a beta tester myself nor did I go to E3 this year however my best friend/ co worker was at E3 and from what he says the game is 90% spin 10% gane. Go ahead and keep the ball spinning fanbois, just don't hold your breath on the game ever seeing release or at least not in this lifetime.
Edit- Before I get called a Mourning fanbois I would also like to state that I am not now now have I ever been a subscriber, nor did I ever purchase or pre purchase Mourning. I have been registered on DnL's forums for about 20 to 24 months and I also hoped that this would be a great game. However as others have already stated the Devs bit off way more than they could chew.

Simply put they're having a hard time matching technology to their desires. It's not easy nor is it probable that they will accomplish a single server without zones for everyone to play on. Eve-Online is the closest to it and they do have zones and even then they suffer from severe lag anytime 150+ people try to fight in the same system. This is why theres been little progress on DnL. I really hope the game succeeds but without some serious breakthroughs on their part the game is vaporware or they'll have to modify their vision.

/Agreed
I can't even come close to imagining the sheer complexity of the task ahead of them, the massive size of the concept alone is daunting in it's own right but add to this a single server solution, one must wonder the amount of time to goes into R&D alone.
But I tend to like companies that try to shoot for the stars and I like the fact that the DnL team has so far stuck to their guns, no matter the fact that their public image has taken a beating. I dare say that perhaps if the MxO team would had done the same that game would have spilled out better. Who knows whether this game will come to fruition as it's been spouted, I guess all those that want the game to happen can do is hope that the Development team knows what they are doing.
