Btw reddit is relevant, millions of people use or read on reddit about lots of topics. It has massive reach and a large fan base, me included.
I started reading reddit by fluke when I 1st started weight lifting and now check it quite regularly.
This guy was obviously pissed off at Blizzard for screwing up the launch of the wow expansion so he protested in what I think is a very effective way.
He got 100s of people to comment on his actions and inconvenienced 1000s the way blizzard did.
Personally, I think he got his message out loud and clear that Blizzard screwed up and in a very smart way. I definitely get what he did.
Millions of people reading reddit doesn't make it relevant. it just says there are way too many self important morons on internet who wants to share their dog taking a dump in their mouth.
Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
Meh, who cares, Reddit is irrelevant in the greater scheme of things.

Yep, I could not care less about reddit.

I agree.
So he threw a fit because of his own issues (which is fine, he can have his "reasons") with the game but inconvenienced everybody else because the world revolves around him.
I suppose it would be too much to ask to have him spanked and grounded until he learned his lesson?
Probably so.
Kyleran, Yamota and Sovrath: You guys have long been 3 of my favorite posters on MMORPG (I've been on since the mid 2000s under a different username). Even though I may not always agree with each one of you, each one of you consistently displays common sense and shows a wisdom about you that unfortunately can't be said of every poster in this or any forum. This just proves that once again.
In this case, I couldn't agree more with each of the posts I quoted including Ikeda's.
And not to sound like one of those, "Get off my lawn!" types, but this subReddit shutdown is more proof that the generation of these Internet babies place far too much emphasis on the need for these social media gimmicks such as Reddit.
Are they convenient to have? Sure
Am I going to lose any sleep over the fact that one of them shuts down for a while? Not in the least!
However, I do agree that one person should not have complete control over shutting a subReddit down and the fact that he did proves once again, that far too many people out there believe they are the center of the universe and are far too overly-dramatic about the game(s) they play.
Yes, Wow has had it's share of problems during WoDs launch, just like so many other games do during their launches. And the fact that Blizzard has been dealing with the DDoS attacks on top of their own issues really sucks for the players and more importantly, those employed there; however, in the grand scheme of things, it's still just a game you are playing -- A GAME! Just be thankful you are able to enjoy these great games to begin with.
Once again, it's just a game and if it's anything more than that, you're doing it wrong.

The fact that your reply consists of you just insulting people for not agreeing with you and has no explanations makes your reply a troll post.
Just for some up front info. I don't visit reddit, don't really get it.
However, if this guy made the reddit? Then managed it and kept it up for however long, isn't it his to do whatever he wants with it?
Sounds like Reddit just jumped into their users business and I would be pissed if I were him. It's his if that's how this is supposed to work. Whether it's about wow, the government or whatever, if they allow their users to moderate the threads they create, no matter how popular they are, than they shouldn't have done a damn thing.
Yet another company selling you on a idea that turns out not to be true if the "public" decides they don't like how someone is managing it. BS IMO, glad I never got onto the redditt thing.
Meh, who cares, Reddit is irrelevant in the greater scheme of things.
Actually you'd be wrong. Reddit is hugely relevant as many sub-Reddits allow negative opinions and bad mouthing. Which is largely not allowed on this site or others. Negativity can be a force for change as well as good. Opinions may not matter to you or to the moderators here on these forums but on Reddit it allows me to vent and call out idiots when it is deserved. Something not allowed here ever. And I think I'm not alone in this. Venting is cathartic at times.
I honestly find it sad and pointless to insult or bad mouth people on the internet. Like who cares?

It actually wasn't his reddit. He was only an admin.
Meh, who cares, Reddit is irrelevant in the greater scheme of things.
Exactly. And Wod is just another great expansion with just more problems as previous expansions (not counting original release but then I was not present).
About DDOS ... is not Blizzard to blame I guess. Any DDOS attack to any net provide should be considered cyber terrorism and all resources used to track this international criminals and close them up for decades in prison! Then, only then, i guess we would see drop on this kind of attacks. But as long as nobody of this bastards pay ... this will continue to happen.
Take MMORPG.com and replace the MMORPG part with reddit and that's it. It's just a collection of forums where people do the exact same thing we're doing here.
This is for people who think reddit has some inherent value and level of import.
Shutup, it's a bunch of internet forums filled with internet people. No one cares, if it didn't exist people could have the same pointless exchanges on any other platform and whichever was the biggest would be where stuff like Dev AMA's or interviews would happen.
On topic: What a douchey admin. Couldn't play his game and threw a fit and took it out on an entire community.

Seconded. i think only people who want to act "pro" goes to reddit and spout their nonsense.
Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.
Yet there's better gaming discussions going on over there. MMORPG.com forum discussions are just one big hate-fest.
