Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
They did a lot to promote exploration in this expansion. Massive amounts of treasures on the map, as well as rares that respawn after a couple of minutes so that people can hunt them down (though only get loot once each kill, per character). That as well as excellent art and world design and improved graphics overall. In addition to the Garrison, which feels like a warcraft RTS whereby you gather resources and build a base. Questing was vastly improved and is pretty much non-linear as you can tackle each one whenever you want, and don't have to follow an order at all (while still providing a great storyline with each zone). In addition to jumping puzzles and bonus objectives for treasure and archaeology hunting.
Questing is the best way to level and gear up at present, which is also a change of pace. Though I think they just recently boosted the experience gained from finishing a dungeon. It's clear why they did not allow flying in this expansion, and I doubt they'll add it in a future patch (probably will when it's not content relevant). They would have to change a lot of things, some landscapes, quests and quite a few perks from the garrisons. In addition to the whole exploration then being perverted, as well as the jumping puzzles and just knocking rares off in seconds as opposed to hunting them.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
Happy to live in Europe, i am enjoying it very much...
Play a medium pop server and no Queues for me...
Best MMO expansion since Rise of Kunark...
And better then vanilla...
I really love how the graphics look in the new zones, with everything put on ultra it does certainly not look like a 10 year old game to me.. Just compare it with the blasted lands, a zone that pretty much still looks like vanilla..
So far i made it to 95 on my priest.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Been having fun with the garrisons....alt-o-holics dream meta gaming the garrisons and followers for each alt. So many missions waiting to be claimed and ran across 22 characters....so little time.
It's hard to disagree. I'm one who would lean more towards BC, but we're not really putting the two ex-packs side-by-side either. You can only really try to remember what BC was like. Regardless, though, this is definitely on par with BC and if they keep going in this direction, 10 more years isn't out of the question.
I m not playing WoD (yet) but i m very happy that for once the majority of the ppl who spend money and time in a mmo having great fun. After D3 RoS, WoD is an excellent expansion too. Well played Blizz.

WoW is a casual single player game that does not require you to group until you get to 100 to do raids/dungeons. If that is your style of game then this is the best x=pac ever. I only play because my wife plays and I am loving the queues, means I don't have to play it.

Not untrue. I actually solo'd a "Suggested Party Size 3" quest with my Pally tank. So difficulty-wise I mean it's a step up, but it's not brutal. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with a well-told story and a game that is geared towards more casual play. Also, I like that you aren't required to group. However, some of the additions, like not tagging elite mobs, etc. are pretty cool because it promotes spontaneous grouping, you know? Kinda rewards grouping. I like that. Choice is never a bad thing.
no, seriously, I've heard it is a GREAT expansion... I hope to play it.
The new releases and expansions that you can't log-in to or are que'd 4ever... they are the BEST!
Sz
They fixed queues and performance issues saturday morning......only a handfull of the 400+ servers have queues.....keep repeating that nobody can get in and play it though
I have not had this much fun in an expansion since BC. Much like BC WoW has stepped up their game to make WoW current again. Its killing me my wife sprained her wrist and we cant play for a week. lol

I noticed that the queues had gone, i didn't play saturday though - had a planetside 2 day!
so late Sunday afternoon i tried logging in, expecting to have to queue again, but no, it was straight in there, and no problems getting into my garrison either, so whatever they did on Saturday really worked.
So far this x-pack is awesome. I am a huge fan of TBC and in my opinion the leveling process and story are definitely better in WoD. However, I think we need to wait and see how the end game pans out before we strip TBC of it's crown.
Just when I thought Blizzard couldn't take furthur degregation of the MMO for casual players, they proved me wrong.
Crafting they destroyed and made it into a Farmsville. Gone is the farming and dedication it took to really master a profession. Now its hop on, do you CDs, hop off. I hate what they turned crafting into.
Rares aren't rares anymore and they are making loot way to easy, which they destroyed the option of crafting. Gear is coming at a ridiculour rate. Blues were suppose to have been HARD to come by not literally given to you every 15 min. Pretty much I don't feel appreciation for the gear I get as it feels like welfare.
Story is good... but this is an MMO not an online game with multiplayer features. They are trying too hard to make it a single player experience. I want a world where you need to rely on others to overcome aspects of it.
Overall it still feels the same old same old. Garrison is poorly implemented, they gutted professions for the sake of casuals and eliminated and need for having to select a profession.
I haven't gotten to lvl 100 yet and still have found replacements gear from heroic SoO so maybe the game is just a faceroll till later. But I'm finding it pretty damn boring atm. I expected..... more and not so casual/solo friendly.
TBC easily beats WoD and its a toss up between Wrath and WoD of which is better. Certainly better than MoP and can't say about Cata as I missed that xpac. I'm finding my self looking for an MMO that actually is designed for people in the open world to work together and has a actual crafting system. Hopefully EQN does that or the Repopulation.

I am just blazing through it at the moment with my tankadin, which is probably playing on easy mode, but i am having a lot of fun doing it, just building a Forge too! Considering the graphics are 'cartoony' i am having more fun than i expected to on this one.
In short, Blizzard have pulled a blinder on this one, it is way better than Pandaria, probably better even than the Lich King expansion, although i did enjoy that one too. I kind of wonder how many people have returned to the game, given that before Draenor, there were roughly 7 million players, has there been a significant increase, again, because seriously, it feels like there are a lot more people about now, might be because everyone is heading to the same places though

What MMO today isn't single player with multi-player end game? I leveled to 50 in AA without ever grouping, 50 in ESO without grouping, and 80 in GW2 without grouping.
So with all that being said, WoW is the most polished, most robust MMO available and this xpack is amazing so far.

GW2 actually had it where while you could quest on you own but there are many events that you will die if not working together and dungeons, at least at release, were very challenging.
SWTOR had quest areas that required grps, same with TSW. New MMOs do develope the concept that players should work together.
I take it you remained in safe zones for AA then? If you were out in the open then I doubt you leveled to 50 without ever grouping... or you got ganked a lot. AA emphasizes teamwork in the world much unlike WoW.

Wife and I left after Litch as we hated that expansion. We didnt bother with Pandara at all but we are back full steam with WoD. My old guild has about 3/4 of its old members back because of WoD. Our guild is so excited its not even funny. Cant wait for the raid content to come out =-)
So once again it seems that there are mmo's and WoW. Whatever mmo someone plays, when a WoW expansion is on the horizon everything freezes and even if many will not buy it, i m sure that there are only few that they don't even think about to do it.
My second thought is, if there is all this with <just> a WoW expansion, what will happen if Blizz announce a brand new mmo?

LOL, my sister-in-law was in heroic 575 gear when she started her trek. She is now level 98 and hasn't equipped one single solitary item of gear. The last item that was rewarded to her was a level 510 item. So lets not jump the gun with how easy it is to do the content just yet.
A fresh 90, and I do mean a literal fresh 90 who just leveled from 1-90 the old fashioned way in the last two weeks wouldn't even be in 483 gear when they step through the portal. I have several 88's right this moment running around in 377 gear from Cata timeframe. They haven't needed to upgrade a single item yet. I'm predicting, at best, they will be wearing around 413 item stuff when they ding. Picture wearing iLvl 413 stuff when a boosted 90 is in iLvl 483. My toons will see every single item as an upgrade whereas the preponderance of the player base will likely never equip a new piece of gear until level 100. The content was balanced around the iLvl 483 guy... not the poor iLvL 413 guy... should be interesting to see how leveling is for someone who actually doesn't outgear the content already.
I'm still debating on getting this. I found MoP beyond boring. I tried it last month and couldn't get through 5 levels of lame no challenge questing. The gfx and game world left a lot to be desired. The combat was worse than I remembered. I'm guessing this expansion is quite a bit different from MoP and light years better? Did any of you really not like MoP/Cata and find this expansion worth buying?
TBC was my favorite expansion, and it would take a change in philosophy for that to change.
Cataclysm was up there too, UNTIL they took the largest nerf bat I have every laid eyes on to all content in the game. When people were complaining that heroics were hard, and Ghostcrawler even made a blog post stating as such. Only for all of it to get nerfed HARD a few weeks later.
I stopped playing during Cata, so I cannot speak about MoP or WoD.

WOTLK was when wow started becoming terrible and tbh its just gotten worse. Definitely not the best expansion ever.

However, WOD is the expansion with some of the better features. Garrisons are fun and some of the quality of life improvements are great.
