AA, the final nail in the coffin

It has gotten completely out of Control now.Trion has started Deleting Posts, banning forum accounts of unhappy people posting, they have gone full gestapo damage control mode now.
Heres what has happened, It recently became made aware on the forums that there was an APEX duping bug, and some forum user showed everyone how to do it at the same time as handing out thousands and thousands of gold and giving away his land, hours later everyone started doing it and Apex was disabled.Now for those who don't know, Apex gives you 1250 in game credits, to buy market place items, this is basically worth Real Money.10 dollars a pop
It then came out the This Apex Dupe bug has been in the game since ALPHA! and has been reported repeatedly and nothing done about it,People have been exploiting this for MONTHS the forums were in an uproar and it was just chaos at one stage.Trion has totally silenced anyone and everyone that speaks out about it, (2 of my forum accounts have been banned already in the space of a day)
Then to top it off, the one and only response we get from Trion is that they will rectify ill gotten gains and give 24 hour suspensions to those accounts in question....THAT IS ALL.
This was a slap in the face to every honest hard working ArcheAge player that has spent countless hours making gold the hard way, it was just the final straw.
So the sh!t has hit the fan, everything has fallen apart, this is the final exploit in the coffin of archeage. I am done with it, as so are many people.

Yup, they're banning people all over the place and deleting tons of threads without explanation. Maybe they've promoted a white knight to junior moderator.
They still can't answer a ticket within a month though.
The tickets are handled by a third-party contractor in the Philippines which only has roughly one to two dozen people working under Trion's contract to outsource that part of customer service. The forum on the other hand is handled by two individuals directly at Trion headquarters. And several other individuals from various places who Trion pays and oversees directly. Thus, forums are heavily moderated and controlled. While actual customer support is atrocious and slow. That's also why it's almost impossible to find contact information to reach out to Trion via phone or email. Because they don't have a customer service department at all anymore. It's all handled by a shift little outsource company in the Philippines who work exclusively via email and/or chat. Since they use free translator services and then copy "canned responses" from a OneNote file into the email or chat (I worked for an outsource company here in the states that contracts out to Microsoft and did the exact same thing. But only because I had to chat with four people simultaneously and it saved time).
Their forum moderation has been pretty bad up to now - out of office hours their time there's practically none, like the other weekend when porn was posted all over them and left up for about 8 hours.
At the moment the entire game is more or less collapsing so it seems they're pressing down hard on the forums with censorship to make it look like nobody's complaining. There was a suggestion that they closed and deleted the discount threads because people were actually managing to get refunds via Steam.

after reading it again I see they mean suspended 24 hours WHILE they investigate, but I'm afraid the damage is done, how many players will this affect, innocent players the offending accounts gifted things to, gave away gold, bought resources to obtain castles with, made guilds powerful with many merchant ships that other innocents profited from.
The implications of these reach deep into everyday gameplay aspect of the game that cannot be reversed except for a day 1 rollback.

APEX was not in game on ALPHA. it was added when game went live, during open beta. and of course they will be deleting posts and threads and be banning forum usage, if a thread comes out with the words "faggot" "worth less fucker" "motherfucking trion" "gay trion", i do not see why these threads should not be banned and users should not be banned. harassing or scamming or griefing other players in game is allowed but nowhere trion mentioned that harassing or bad mouthing trion will be tolerated. i am a frequent forum visitor of AA even if i don't play the game, i am waiting for moronic people to leave who thought AA is for casuals and trion will hold their hands to get them gears. and this is not the nail in the coffin for AA just for the handholding crowd.

Yeah there are people who thinks AA is for them, they can just open their wallet, buy LP pots and win; i am waiting for these morons to leave. they think they can get top quality gears in a month like the handholding themepark game, i am waiting for them to leave. these "casuals" need to leave for AA to thrive.
There is player driven economy and yes current situation is bad, it happens in every mmorpg, happened in WoW, happened in eq2, eq, even the old school UO, swg, swtor, rift, pretty much any major mmorpg you can name, this kind of duping happened. Trion have a cash shop duping in their hands and it is not as bad as gold duping that happened roughly 2 years ago in WoW. sure for a short amount of time some people will have lots of cash shop currency but as your post says they will get 24 hours ban, who says trion will not be taking away extra cash shop currency or the extra gold the dupers made will not be taking away from them within this ban time? Rift had a platinum duping situation before they went f2p and trion took away ALL the platinums, drained the dupers dry. they have experience dealing with this kind of situation, so i am pretty much sure they will do similar things in AA too. and even if they don't, due to the gameplay nature of AA these extra golds are not assurance that the dupers will be ruling pvp for long.
And a person found a duping bug but instead of reporting it he was exploiting it and then spread it all over internet. and you come out here making him sound like a hero of the mass population. and don't again bullshit that APEX duping was in alpha, there was no APEX in alpha and i never found a single post in reporting forums that there was such exploit since the game came live, people who found out they kept it to themselves and as they had enough fun they let others know , if they reported to trion i would say "well at least they reported" but now i believe that these people need to be perma banned.

From what I understand Trion doesn't actually code the game themselves, this is the first problem right here.
#1 Rule that seems to be true is don't play a game unless the game can be coded and changed by the same company hosting the game.
Compare Arche Age to Rift, I would have to say Rift is better although I personally don't play rift because I generally don't like the theme and feel of the game.
Its also true that Trion moderators have been removing posts to try to cover up the bugs and exploiting I tried to visit a few links listed on the search engine which were removed but had cached versions.
With the amount of Bugs, Third Party Hacks, and Exploits in this game it is going to need a full reset to fix the damage that has been done and make things fair again with patches and fixes to all the hacks, and exploits.
The only hope is to wait for another MMO like Black Desert, or Bless, but I have a feeling both these games are going to be Pay 2 Win, or Pay 2 Enjoy, or just as bad, or perhaps two other games I have thought about that might be good Star Citizen, and Shroud OF The Avatar, no idea yet.

You forgot 'pull out your credit card'.I have to say, though, their forum wasn't too obnoxiously moderated when I was lurking it, people were saying pretty much whatever was on their minds and not always politely. I saw plenty of threads stay up that would have gotten deleted and/or gotten people in trouble on most other forums (including perhaps this one). But things might have changed with the recent disaster.
It's a damn shame about this game, I agree with those who said it should have been a sub game. They could still have kept labor if they wanted to slow things down, and simply made it so you couldn't purchase more with real money.
Oh yeah, and the land hoarders. What a sad joke. Glad I saw that one coming, or I would have been out $150 and homeless, too.

Well, that meanning if i understand correct what you wanna say allready exist long time in online games, maybe since the 1st one, so no it didnt start with AA.
I, on the other hand, am glad I did try this game. Not that I will stay long. AA has many features that I really like. The somewhat sandbox feel is probably my biggest draw. The downside for me is the fact that I cannot get property to do much of what I like to do in these sort of games...craft. If you are just starting out, good luck in getting even a small farm. Yes, it can be done but unless you are lucky you will be doing a lot of work in doing so. And when you get the chance expect to pay dearly for it.
The other thing I really do not like is the "grindy" feel of the game at times. One way to get better weapons and such is to grind a region called Hasla. It is not only boring but it is long and boring. Now I didn't expect it to be easy, but I just hate when it takes so long to even feel like you are making a dent in progression. Add to that the fact that you just about go to sleep while doing it and you get the picture.
This game is not bad. It is not great either. So with that, I will stick around till January and then move on. Many in the three guilds I have been in have start moving on already (first two imploded..last one just got bored).

This makes me really sad. I had such high hopes for this game. Playing Alpha was so much fun! I don't know whether Trion or XLGames is the MOST responsible for the demise. Trion did not handle their side well at all and XL made a game that seems to be poorly coded.
This kind of dupe is something that should never have happened. If you kill the economy of a sandbox game, the game is done.

I am one of the people perma banned by Trion for posting on the forums and talking about things they didn't like. Was a patron that loved and was loyal to the game. Now it's all gone, and the appeal I put in got replied to by an auto response bot saying "Get fucked, love Trion."

Sad really. I just tried AA and found it to have lots of potential. maybe in 6 months it will rebound ala Neverwinter.

Who knows how many guilds have gotten incalculable amounts of gold doing this; people on general forums and reddit have claimed that they or they're guild have been doing this since launch and have made hundreds of thousands of free credits. "
